Description

As a Bulkhead Technician, you will be responsible for the installation and assembly of bulkheads in boat hulls according to specifications. This role requires a strong attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring the structural integrity and quality of each installation. You will work closely with other technicians and supervisors to meet production standards and timelines.

  • Assist senior bulkhead technicians in the assembly and installation of bulkheads in boat hulls, following engineering drawings and specifications. 
  • Prepare boat hulls for bulkhead installation, including cleaning, sanding, and applying adhesives or sealants as needed. 
  • Position and align bulkhead components in boat hulls, ensuring proper fit and alignment according to specifications. 
  • Secure bulkheads in place using fasteners, adhesives, or welding techniques, ensuring structural integrity and watertight seals. 
  • Inspect bulkhead installations for defects and quality issues, reporting any discrepancies to senior technicians or supervisors. 
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. 
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards for quality, safety, and productivity. 
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge of bulkhead installation techniques. 
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes, improve efficiency, and meet production goals and deadlines. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager to support the overall goals and objectives of the company. 
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in boat manufacturing or a related field is preferred. 
  • No prior experience required; willingness to learn and ability to follow instructions is essential. 
  • Basic understanding of boat construction principles and techniques is a plus. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow directions from supervisors and senior technicians. 
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects as needed. 
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic, with a willingness to learn and grow in the role. 
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
  • Exposed to heat, cold, dust, fumes, and some outside weather conditions.
