 What You'll Do:

A Prep Cook is responsible for the preparation of recipes according to guidelines and timelines. This includes cooking and preparing a variety of food products including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, stocks, breads and other food products using a variety of equipment and utensils according to the Daily Prep List. 


 Your Key Responsibilities 

  • Comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, in accordance with standardized recipes.
  • Complete opening and closing checklists.
  • Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties.
  • Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills,fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
  • Understand and comply consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
  • Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, walls grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, saute´ burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.
  • Close the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assist others in closing the kitchen.
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring-up suggestions for improvement.
  • Promptly report equipment and food quality problems to Kitchen Manager.
  • Inform Management immediately of product shortages.



Requirements

What We Are Looking For:

  • Previous and/or relevant experience in a high-end, high-volume restaurant preferred. 
  • Ability to multi-task and work at various paces, manage time efficiently, be organized, and have reliable attendance. 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, training materials, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.
  • Possess a valid Food Handler Card at the time of hire. 
  • Ability to work standing for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. 
  • Must be 18 years or older.
