Description

 Saint Rose of Lima Parish is seeking a passionate and faith-filled individual to serve as the Youth and Young Adult Minster (YYAM). This ministry-centered role is dedicated to leading high school students and young adults closer to Jesus Christ through meaningful relationships, solid Catholic teaching, and engaging community experiences. 


The incumbent will implement the Life Teen Ministry Program, which creates a safe and welcoming space for teens to grow in faith, connect with peers, and experience the love of Christ in a personal and transformative way. Life Teen resources support youth ministers in planning dynamic semester schedules, organizing retreats and events, and training volunteer leaders (Core Team) to accompany students in their faith journey. 


For the summer months, the Youth Minister will help prepare and oversee the Totus Tuus evening program (7-12 grades). The Youth Minister will also be responsible for planning and attending a summer camp experience, such as Life Teen’s Camp Covecrest 

Requirements
  • Lead weekly Life Teen meetings and faith formation activities. 
  • Mentor the spiritual and moral development of high school students within the parish. 
  • Manage camp and retreat registrations, safe environment compliance, and other administrative procedures. 
  • Communicate ministry information clearly and effectively to parents, students, and parish staff. 
  • Recruit, train, and manage a committed Core Team of adult volunteers. 
  • Plan and oversee all ministry events, including retreats, camps, excursions, and service opportunities. 
  • Cultivate strong, supportive relationships within the parish and the broader Murfreesboro community. 

In addition, the Youth and Young Adult Minister will cultivate a vibrant and growing community of young adults (18-35) within the parish. This role focuses on both spiritual formation and community-building. Tasks Include: 

  • Coordinating and leading regular Bible studies rooted in Scripture and Church teaching. 
  • Planning and hosting monthly social gatherings that foster friendship, joy, and authentic Catholic community. 
  • Organizing quarterly formative events to support spiritual growth and deeper engagement with the faith. 
  • Taking initiative to grow the ministry both spiritually and numerically through outreach, personal invitation, and consistent presence. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required. 
  • Substantial training and experience in Catholic doctrine and youth ministry. 
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church. 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. 
  • A spirit of collaboration, maturity, and a deep personal faith.
