Description

The Seafood Production Supervisor assists the Department Manager with managing the seafood production staff, processing files for the production and packing team, addressing customer service issues, scheduling, monitoring inventory, and maintaining compliance with SQF standards. In addition, the Assistant Manager is responsible for processing Giant Eagle order files and supervising the weekend shifts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures employees are trained properly in maximizing cut yield and seafood production operations
  • Ensures cut yields are measured regularly and are in line with profitability matrix
  • Ensure first-in-first-out (FIFO) seafood rotation from the Cooler and Freezer
  • Ensures that the correct product is being processed to the customer specifications
  • Communicates quality/shrink/shorts and inventory notes to buyers
  • Maintains cooler and processing area conditions
  • Confirms weights
  • Makes reasonable product substitutions, when necessary
  • Works with Food Safety Compliance Administrator to maintain good production practices, meet HACCP, FDA and OSHA requirements
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a food production facility
  • Proficient in the use of Excel
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Good organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good oral/written communication skills, effectively transmit knowledge
  • Committed to high standards of quality
  • Ability to motivate and energize people to achieve desired results
Salary Description
$50,000 to $55,000 annually to start
