Compensation:   SF Bay Area: Minimum $132,300.00 – Maximum $165,300 per year 

                              All other States: Minimum $112,400 - $140,600 per year

THE ROLE:

The SEMI Foundation is the workforce development arm of SEMI, the leading global industry association for the semiconductor industry. We are seeking an experienced Sr. Program Manager of Events and Engagement to organize, manage, and execute in-person and virtual industry events, including international programs; work and collaborate with industry volunteer committees and groups on critical initiatives, and support cross-functional efforts on the SEMI Foundation team to help build industry awareness and grow the talent pipeline. This role requires excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills, and requires nationwide and potentially international travel (up to 20% of time), as well as occasional travel to SEMI Foundation headquarters in Milpitas, California.


We are looking for someone to join the Foundation team who is passionate about designing and executing welcoming, high-visibility events; who can tailor SEMI Foundation events and programs to different audiences; who can feel at ease working with everyone from event vendors to C-Suite executives at semiconductor companies; and who can plan and manage multiple programs at the same time with grace, professionalism, and a can-do attitude.


The successful candidate will bring significant organizational and interpersonal skills to the table. The Sr. Program Manager will need to be creative, energetic, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and projects at any given time. 


This is a full-time, remote, exempt position which reports to the Director of Workforce Development of the SEMI Foundation and can be based anywhere in the U.S.


CORE QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 5+ years as an event planner, manager, and executor
  • Highly creative problem solving and project management skills and a can-do attitude
  • High customer service orientation
  • Experience in working with vendors, venues, and marketing departments
  • Experience in and ability to work with industry volunteers including C-Suite executives
  • Experience in building and facilitating panels and coordinating speakers and logistics, both prior and during the event
  • Experience in working with high-functioning volunteer groups; ability to manage multiple groups simultaneously
  • Takes initiative and ownership of work; high attention to detail; able to manage schedules and meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfort in and enjoyment of public speaking and presenting
  • Adept in scheduling meetings with various partners, creating agendas, keeping minutes, and documenting procedures
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Working knowledge of the microelectronics/semiconductor industry
  • Experience designing programs for many audiences, including students, early-career professionals and established industry employees
  • Understanding of event budget management
  • Availability to travel throughout the U.S. and potentially internationally on a regular basis
  • Experience with systems administration, management, web and reporting (Ex: SalesForce, Drupal, NetSuite)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Ex: Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

SEMICON Shows Workforce Development (WFD) Programming Management

  • Support the process for soliciting and reviewing speaker abstracts for the WFD stage for SEMICON expos in the U.S. and India
  • Work with the SEMI Americas team on all logistics for the SEMICON West WFD Pavilion (stage, meeting areas, vendors, etc.)
  • Work with partners in India, develop WFD programming, identify speakers, collect and manage presentations
  • With the support of the SEMI Foundation team, design, manage, and serve as point person for three days of programming for the WFD Pavilion at select SEMI expos, including panels, speakers, WFD programming (flash mentoring, job fairs, etc.), and gatherings
  • At select SEMI expos, emcee the WFD Pavilion events and facilitate panels as needed
  • Conduct all pre-planning for select SEMICON shows, identifying roles for team members and illuminating pressure points
  • Connect with industry members around participation and engagement at the Pavilion
  • Work with SEMI Americas to develop sponsorship opportunities for industry members

Industry Volunteer and WFD Event Management 

  • Support key volunteer committees and working groups such as Semiconductor PRIDE, Women in Semiconductors, and the SEMI HR special interest group
  • Develop content for and manage and execute in-person and virtual events such as Women in Semiconductors, Semiconductor PRIDE, and other WFD programming at SEMI conference and expositions
  • Work with staff team to build, expand, and implement impactful additional outreach programming and events
  • Support the Foundation’s annual Excellence in Achievement award
  • Identify and manage aligned partner organizations that will assist with event logistics, multiply outreach efforts and expand the reach of events
  • Support marketing to promote events by providing appropriate marketing copy for campaigns as well as writing occasional blog articles 
  • Collect event attendee data via registrations and surveys; report number of participants and demographics
  • Create sponsorship opportunities for industry partners which help offset cost of events, including travel expenses
  • Retrieve registration data; build and distribute post-event surveys for feedback/recommendations; maintain participant database for workforce pipeline
  • Arrange event capture (photography, videography, etc.) as appropriate
  • With the Foundation team, support ongoing engagement of participants and connections to other SEMI Foundation program offerings
