Position Summary

We’re looking for a creative and detail-oriented Producer to help bring creative content to life across platforms — from audio and video to live events and social-first content. This role is ideal for a multimedia storyteller about our region and who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment and knows how to shape compelling content that reaches and resonates with diverse audiences.


Key Responsibilities

· Story Production: Research, pitch, and produce original stories in collaboration with reporters and editors for audio, video, or digital platforms.

· Multimedia Execution: Record, edit, and assemble content using industry-standard tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Audition, Pro Tools).

· Project Management: Coordinate production schedules, manage deadlines, and ensure high editorial and technical standards.

· Live & Virtual Events: Assist with planning, scripting, and producing live journalism events, panel discussions, and community forums.

· Audience Engagement: Collaborate with the audience and digital teams to tailor content for social media, newsletters, and other distribution channels.

· Editorial Collaboration: Work closely with reporters, editors, and visual journalists to enhance storytelling through sound, video, and visuals.

· Innovation & Experimentation: Explore and implement new storytelling formats and audience engagement tools aligned with our mission.

Requirements

 

Qualifications

· 3+ years of experience in journalism or media production (radio, podcasting, video, or similar fields)

· Strong editorial judgment and storytelling sensibility

· Proficiency in audio/video editing tools (e.g., Audition, Premiere, Descript, Pro Tools)

· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively

· Familiarity with social media, CMS platforms, and content distribution best practices

· Deep commitment to ethical journalism and elevating community voices

· Collaborative mindset with excellent communication and organizational skills


 

Preferred but Not Required

· Experience with live event production or livestreaming

· Comfort on set, in studio, or behind the mic

· Working knowledge of graphic/video motion design tools (e.g., After Effects, Canva, etc.)

· Background in nonprofit or mission-driven media

Salary Description
$45,000 - $50,000
