Position Title: Manager in Training

The Manager in Training (Special Projects) is a developmental position designed to afford an individual the opportunity to rotate through multiple operational departments in preparation to assume increased responsibilities within the organization. The individual will be assigned to different departmental and special project roles to further develop the operational knowledge, business skill set, and organizational acumen necessary to lead, develop, and train a high-performance team. Management responsibilities include direct supervision of multiple employees ensuring all business and customer requirements are met. The manager will determine the daily work priorities and objectives and measurements upon which the department or special project will be evaluated. at its completion and will manage department team according to the established policies and practices of the organization.
The manager ensures productivity targets are achieved and that the department processes are efficiently administered, managed to standards, and promptly completed. The position exercises independent discretion and judgment in the execution of business strategies by providing a strong sense of leadership, organization, and decision-making ability that will effectively lead and motivate the team. The manager hires, trains, coaches, and develops associates on efficient work methods to increase departmental productivity.
Essential Functions
- Provide oversight of the day-today operations of the Department, assuring a functioning and efficient workforce.
- Oversee all assigned duties and projects to ensure they are properly managed, performed efficiently, and completed on schedule.
- Understand and utilize downloaded ICE reports to check the progress of current projects, check completed projects, keep an updated inventory and to identify errors in ICE. Report any discrepancies.
- Audit work in progress & completed work to maintain a consistent level of quality and efficiency.
- Improve efficiency, quality, accuracy, and service of ongoing work by identifying process improvements and using best judgment to determine next steps for influencing change and partnering with leadership to resolve.
- Study and standardize procedures to improve department and efficiency of workers by introducing them for review before implementation.
- Supervise the employees of the department including delegating tasks to accomplish projects, assigning, and evaluating work as well as interviewing, hiring, and training new employees. Coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees. Write annual performance evaluations. Implement and monitor the implementation of a performance improvement process with non-performing employees. Foster teamwork.
- Maintain inventory of supplies for department.
- Create and implement action items to resolve reoccurring issues that affect production rates or quality.
- Make clear and timely decisions that are in the best interest of the organization.
- Follow regulatory procedures/processes.
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformances related to product, process, and quality systems. Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
- Identify and record any problems related to the product, process, and quality system
- Ensure company policies, procedures and processes are followed.
- Maintain maintenance on machinery to assure proper finished result is up to par.
- Provide weekly reports to CEO & Operations Manager such as rates, discrepancies, and equipment usage
Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages subordinate supervisors who supervise production personnel and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these production units. They may also oversee hiring of employees; plan/direct work; reward/discipline employees and address/resolve complaints.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.TravelSome out of area travel and overnight may be expected.Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of four years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5-7 years experience in a manufacturing, warehouse or distribution environment.
- 3-5 years experience in a management supervisory role in manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment.
- Computer experience with proficient Microsoft Office skills, with emphasis on Excel.
- LEAN, Six sigma, PMP or CSM Certification.
- Entry-level skills of repair technician duties by disassembling LCD’S devices for testing purposes.
- Experience in consumer electronics across all phases of reverse logistics operational management. (Preferred).
