Job Summary: 

Freeman Boatworks, LLC is seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Programmer/Operator to join our team in a fast-paced marine manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and enhancing our CNC operations, including maintaining a comprehensive parts library and utilizing CAD files to operate Zund Cutter, AXYZ Router, Laser Engraver, and ABM Quilter. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and excellent communication skills to ensure efficient and high-quality production. 


Responsibilities: 


CNC Programming: 

  • Develop and modify CNC programs to optimize efficiency, minimize waste, and ensure parts meet specified requirements. 
  • Efficiently nest files to maximize material utilization and machine time.  
  • Familiarity with Rhino CAD, Light Burn, Optitex is a plus!

Quality Control: 

  • Inspect machined parts to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards. 
  • Implement corrective actions as needed to maintain part quality. 

Process Improvement: 

  • Identify and implement workflow and operational improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime. 
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop CNC programming and setup procedures. 

Troubleshooting and Maintenance: 

  • Assist operators with machine troubleshooting and minor repairs. 
  • Ensure proper and safe equipment maintenance. 

Safety: 

  • Enforce and adhere to all company and OSHA safety standards. 
  • Promote a culture of safety through training, audits, and daily practices. 

Documentation and Record Keeping: 

  • Maintain accurate logs of production activities, machine maintenance, and quality inspections. 

Communication: 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality. 
  • Communicate effectively with team members and leadership to resolve issues and improve performance. 


Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC machining operations 
  • Strong knowledge of CNC equipment, programming, and troubleshooting 
  • Proven ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications 
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
