Position Overview
Assists the Special Assets team in restructuring of troubled borrower relationships and/or adversely graded loans within the Bank’s loan portfolio of diverse size and complexity in compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations and Bank lending policies and procedures.
Essential Job Functions
- Proactively reach out to under-performing borrowers on a regular basis for business check-ins (generally monthly, could be more frequent as needed)
- Track borrower communications and calendar follow ups; loop in colleagues as needed; and ensure full documentation for borrower files
- Assist with preparing monthly downrating and impairment proposals for credit committee
- Prepare portfolio summary including detailed summary of each troubled loan
- Work with the technology team to build monitoring reports and alerts to manage portfolio and borrower-lever risk
- Reviews all assigned loans with the Special Assets team
- Assist with restructuring plans for criticized loans and the subsequent monitoring
- Assist with managing risk rating of each loan assigned to the portfolio
- Assist with allowance and charge-off recommendations to management
- Prepare periodic reports for senior management
- Monitor delinquent loans
- Report pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested or according to an established schedule, compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate company personnel
- Coordinate specific work tasks with other personnel within the department and with other departments to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information
- Respond to inquiries relating to Special Assets or requests from customers, other company personnel, etc. within given time frames and within established policy
- Assist with proper processing of the SBA Claims to collect on the SBA guaranties
- Comply with all Anti-Money Laundering Laws and Regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field
- 2 – 5 years of work experience in similar capacity
- Knowledge of SBA regulations a strong plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Acute attention to detail
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Working knowledge of the personal computer and the Word, Excel, and Tax Analysis Spreads programs
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is in regular communication, is required to use various tools or objects, and have the mobility to move about the office. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position that regularly requires 40 hours per week.
