Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled and motivated technician to join our team, with a primary focus on Distributed Antenna System (DAS) installations. This role involves the installation, testing, and maintenance of low-voltage cabling, fiber optics, and DAS equipment in both commercial and residential environments. The ideal candidate will have experience working with RF systems, coaxial and fiber cabling, and be comfortable interpreting iBwave designs and performing related testing such as PIM and sweep tests.

During project downtimes or when DAS work is limited, the employee may also support our fiber team, assisting with residential and commercial fiber builds, terminations, and testing. This is a hands-on field position requiring physical labor, attention to detail, flexibility, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work on feet for extended periods of time while completing physically demanding work.
  • Wearing the company uniform during all project-related duties unless specifically directed otherwise by a superior.
  • Always considering Safety First when working and driving.
  • Installing and terminating copper and fiber-optic cable to connect customers to high-speed internet or Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS).
  • Completing fiber optic and DAS installations for residential and commercial customers.
  • Working both indoors and outdoors in various environments, including crawlspaces, attics, rooftops, and telecom closets.
  • Digging or trenching outdoors in wet/dirty environments to place conduit, handholes, or cable pathways.
  • Working with hand tools, test sets, and RF equipment to complete installations and ensure system performance.
  • Performing component and system testing, including copper certification and fiber attenuation testing.
  • Configuring and using test equipment such as OTDRs, power meters, PIM testers, and sweep gear.
  • Performing DAS-specific testing and validation, including coaxial sweep testing, PIM testing, and signal strength verification.
  • Installing and aligning DAS antennas, coaxial cables, fiber jumpers, splitters, and remote units in accordance with iBwave design documentation.
  • Reading and interpreting telecom blueprints, wiring diagrams, and signal path drawings, including iBwave plans and RF coverage maps.
  • Completing Telecommunication Room buildouts, including rack construction, ladder rack installation, grounding, bonding, wire management, and backboard assembly.
  • Installing cabling infrastructure to industry and manufacturer standards (Cat5e, Cat6, single-mode and multi-mode fiber, coaxial, etc.).
  • Labeling all equipment and cable to meet project specifications.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of installs, test results, cable paths, and materials used.
  • Assisting crew leader with construction, reconstruction, and maintenance tasks.
  • Assisting equipment operators by spotting/swamping, hand digging, and identifying underground obstructions.
  • Taking direction and constructive feedback from senior team members to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Traveling to client sites within a designated territory for installations, service calls, troubleshooting, or equipment upgrades.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues with Telecom, Data, DAS, and IT infrastructure.
  • Understanding and adhering to the National Electrical Code, Local Building Codes, and customer standards related to low voltage and RF systems.
  • Ensuring that all grounding and bonding is performed to industry and project specifications.
  • Demonstrating ability to lead small teams or projects as needed; ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to quality standards.
  • Completing assigned work independently or collaboratively in a timely and professional manner.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to accept periodic assignments that involve travel away from immediate district office area based on client needs, business needs, and project scope.
  • Exposure to noisy or dusty conditions; chemicals & solvents; mechanical, electrical, and/or other hazards.
  • General hours of Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. But the ability to provide support during and outside regular business hours is required.
  • Regional travel required.
  • Must be able to work in the United States.

Salary Description
$20.00 - $25.00 / hr
