We are a premier urine drug testing/toxicology laboratory serving Addiction/ Substance Use Disorder Treatment, MAT + OTP Clinics and in Pain Management settings. Position Summary
The Payer Relations Director is responsible for executing department strategy to retain and increase market access in specific regions by calling on, planning, negotiating and contracting with health plans. This role is also responsible for coordinating efforts with the VP of Payer Relations and sales leadership.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Develops and maintains profitable business relationships with key payer organizations
- Designs and implements strategies to meet or exceed goals for targeted accounts
- Creates and maintains strategic account maintenance and business development plans
- Identifies and builds rapport with key decision makers to form successful business relationships, identify opportunities and meet customer needs
- Meet in person with top 5 accounts annually
- Evaluates, negotiates and implements contracts with assigned target prospects
- Collaborates with various internal departments to increase access in strategic target markets
- Meets regularly with VP of Payer Relations to review goals and evaluate success
- Participates in planning and development sessions for overall department strategy
- Maintains awareness of marketplace trends affecting overall business strategy and makes recommendations for re-focus and adjustments
- Manages the administrative requirements of the position
- Participates in solution development initiatives and department process improvement
- Automobile and airplane travel will be required and may be up to 10%

General QualificationsMinimum Education and/or Certification:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent work experience
Required:
- 3-5 years of working in a laboratory or health plan or
- 1-3 years of direct contracting with health plans on behalf of a laboratory
- Knowledge of managed care, provider reimbursement and contracting, and healthcare trends
- Experience calling on C-level executives
- Contract review, negotiation and implementation
- Business contacts within the industry (Commercial health plans, Government plans/programs, Managed Care Organizations, ACOs, CIN’s etc.)
Required Skills:

- CRM experience
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
Preferred:
- Knowledge of the laboratory services industry
- Toxicology experience is a plus
- Microsoft Power BI experience
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
· Prolonged periods of communicating on a telephone and via Teams
· Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times
· Must be able to travel in a personal automobile and travel via airplane, as needed
