First Steps Recovery is an accredited Drug and Alcohol Rehab and Detox Facility accredited by the Joint Commission, certified by LegitScript, and is a licensed DHCS. We offer residential rehab, medical detox, PHP, IOP, and a special online version of our PHP and IOP programs for citizens of Sacramento and beyond. Role Summary:
The Clinical Manager oversees the day-to-day clinical operations of the facility’s substance use disorder programs. They supervise clinicians and support staff, ensure adherence to regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CARF, state licensure), and drive continuous improvement in care delivery. The role blends clinical expertise with administrative leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical supervision and support to therapists, counselors, case managers, and interns.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and licensing/accreditation standards.
- Oversee treatment planning, intake assessments, and discharge planning.
- Review and audit clinical documentation for quality assurance.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
- Monitor caseloads and ensure appropriate staff-to-client ratios.
- Develop and implement training and professional development programs.
- Support and enforce evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care.
- Assist with crisis management and clinical escalations.
- Participate in strategic planning, performance improvement, and outcome tracking.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
- Valid state clinical license (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, CADC II).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in behavioral health or SUD treatment.
- Supervisory or management experience in a clinical setting.
- Knowledge of DSM-5, ASAM criteria, and motivational interviewing.
- Strong documentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with commercial insurance billing.
- Prior work in residential, PHP, IOP, or MAT programs.
- Familiarity with Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) processes.
- Familiar with DHCS, Joint Commission standards
