Lafayette Federal may have the perfect opportunity for you! We are currently seeking a CFP Underwriting Supervisor to join our dynamic team!


About the role:

We are currently seeking a Contractor Financing Program (CFP) Underwriting Supervisor to join our team! 

Following established policies and procedures, is responsible for underwriting production and providing administrative support to the CFP Manager and CFP underwriting team for the CFP-Consumer Lending Department.


Requirements

A day in the life of the CFP Underwriting Supervisor will include:

  • Underwriting and making decisions regarding consumer loans up to the amount assigned per credit union policies. Reviewing and analyzing tax returns, paystubs, interest rate calculations, borrower's credit character, ability and willingness to repay use of existing credit accounts. Making recommendations to the CFP - Program Manager as they pertain to rate structure, loan terms, policies and procedures as needed.
  • Verifying that all required documentation has been received; following up and requesting missing information; analyzing the information gathered based on credit union policy, reconciling the income, appraisal value, credit history and determining the terms and conditions of the loan. Performing processing functions that include calculating debt to income ratios, loan to value ratios, document preparation, loan disbursement and reconciliation.
  • Assisting the CFP Program Manager in analyzing the Consumer Loan Department’s indirect lending activities by compiling information from various consumer lending systems. Assisting in creating and/or updating periodic departmental reports.
  • Providing training and mentoring to the underwriting team. Manages team payroll, PTO and schedules. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of consumer lending products, policies and procedures. 


Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of similar, or related experience.
  • (1) A two year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.

Pay: $67,541.00 - $75,000.00 annually depending on experience and qualifications.
