Position Overview
We are looking for a dependable and experienced Sheetfed Press Operator to execute and maintain high-quality press runs in a deadline-driven environment. This individual will be responsible for completing the press operation, from setup to output, ensuring precision, color consistency, and smooth mechanical performance throughout each run. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills, discipline, and a deep respect for quality print production.
Key Responsibilities
Press Operation & Maintenance:
- Adjust ink levels, registration, and paper feed for optimal print results.
- Maintain print consistency and color standards throughout production runs.
- Set up, operate, and monitor sheetfed printing presses according to job specifications.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and minor mechanical repairs to minimize downtime.
Quality Control:
- Perform ongoing quality checks and make real-time adjustments as needed.
- Review job tickets and inspect printed materials for clarity, alignment, and color accuracy.
- Troubleshoot issues during runs and communicate with team members to resolve them efficiently.
Workflow Coordination:
- Maintain accurate production records and press logs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and cleanliness standards for equipment and workstations.
- Collaborate with prepress and finishing teams to ensure job requirements are clearly understood and executed.
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience operating sheetfed offset printing presses.
- Physically able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to read job tickets, proofs, and technical specifications accurately.
- Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and reliability under tight deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of press mechanics, color theory, and print quality standards.
