Martin/Martin is currently seeking an HR Business Partner to join our Human Resources group in our Denver, CO headquarters. The HR Business Partner supports a range of human resources functions, including employee relations, HR metrics and reporting, training and development, benefits administration, policies and procedures, and related programs and activities. This role helps ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations, supports employee engagement and culture efforts, and contributes to organizational development initiatives. The HR Business Partner serves as an advisor to employees and management and collaborates with leadership to foster a productive, engaging, and compliant workplace environment.


The role may also include supervisory responsibilities as needed, depending on business requirements.

Examples Of Responsibilities

  • Assist in onboarding new employees, including orientation and benefits administration
  • Support annual HR processes, including performance management cycles, engagement surveys, and employee development programs
  • Partner with leadership to identify and develop high-potential employees
  • Gather, analyze, and report HR metrics and trends to inform strategic initiatives
  • Develop insights from employee feedback (e.g., engagement surveys, exit interviews) to recommend talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies
  • Promote a positive organizational culture that encourages open communication, collaboration, and teamwork across departments
  • Provide coaching and training to managers on communication, feedback, recognition, and employee relations practices
  • Address employee relations issues by conducting thorough investigations, documenting findings clearly, and recommending appropriate actions
  • Maintain and communicate HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment laws and deadlines
  • Conduct and coordinate training sessions on HR compliance, interpersonal skills, team building, and conflict resolution
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging HR technologies to drive continuous improvement
  • May supervise others as assigned, including providing guidance, managing performance expectations, and supporting professional development 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES

This position is primarily administrative in nature, working mostly inside of the office completing a wide range of activities. The following abilities are required:

  • Completing repetitive movement on tasks such as using a mouse or keyboard

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • BA in human resources, psychology, business, or a similar field, or equivalent experience/certification
  • 5 or more years of HR Business Partner experience
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity
  • Ability to develop strong, trusting relationships across the organization
  • Strong coaching, communication, and collaboration skills with employees at all levels and across diverse functions
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage priorities effectively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to speak clearly and maintain composure in confrontational situations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems; ability to learn and use new technologies
  • Ability to supervise others and provide effective leadership when required
  • Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in engineering firms, professional services firms, or other firms with technically focused employees
  • Proficiency with Paylocity or similar HRIS
