Job Summary

The Plant Operator is responsible for carrying out Operations and maintenance task throughout facility. The Plant Operator must be adaptable to be assigned to a wide variety of tasks dependent on the immediate needs of the water plant. This may include recording data, various types of manual labor, and working with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment. The Plant Operator will work full-time hours with the ability to work varied shifts as needed (including emergency call-outs, overtime, nights, weekends, etc.). 

Requirements
  • Conduct washdowns, cleaning, and corrosion control. 
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, lubrication, and equipment servicing as required. 
  • Data collection and data entry.
  • Load/Transfer/ Batch chemicals into storage tanks using      
  • pumps and forklifts.
  • Undertake simple mechanical repairs as required. 
  • Report any improperly working equipment or unsafe situations to the supervisor or other designated people as appropriate.
  • Create a safe work environment and maintain a clean site appearance.
  • Take company-provided training courses in environmental health and safety and comply with safe working practices.
  • Be positive, pleasant to co-workers, and customer service oriented, and to the extent that there is normal contact with the customer, report any customer feedback, good or bad.

Key skills and Qualifications

  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position to engage in physical work which will include climbing, lifting, & bending.
  • Must maintain a clear criminal background and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Working hours are typically 8am through 5pm Monday through Friday. However, must be available to work varied shifts as needed, including emergency call outs, nights, and weekends, etc. as it is frequently required. 
  • Must be flexible to adjust and work on a variety of tasks as needed throughout facility.  
  • Must have a positive attitude with willingness to help whenever and wherever needed. 
  • Must be willing and able to use hand and power tools.
  • Must be very prompt, punctual, and not suffer from absenteeism. This is especially important given the critical nature of and purpose of the company.
  • Must adhere to the Company’s policies and practices related to the drug-free workplace and workplace violence prevention.

Education and Experience·

Strong preference given to candidates with experience in electrical, piping, or mechanical disciplines. · Experience in Reverse Osmosis or other industrial process operations is desirable however, applicants can have gained valuable experience in any number of environments including repair or maintenance in industrial facilities, vehicles, or marine industry. · Honorably discharged veterans are encouraged to apply.
