Rental Equipment Manager

Lonestar Equipment Solutions is seeking an experienced and highly organized Rental Equipment Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our rental fleet and service technicians. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the readiness, availability, and safety of all rental equipment and coordinating a team that delivers exceptional service to our customers. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, operational knowledge, and a passion to MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead the rental and repair technician team, providing daily direction, support, and performance management.
  • Oversee the staging, pre-check and check-in of rental equipment deliveries and returns.
  • Manage inventory levels of rental assets, ensuring equipment is maintained, inspected, and repaired as needed.
  • Monitor utilization, downtime, and service records to maximize equipment performance and profitability.
  • Ensure all equipment meets safety and quality standards before being released to customers.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and prioritize repairs to reduce operational interruptions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe equipment yard and service area.
  • Provide reporting on rental fleet status, service history, and usage trends.
  • Collaborate with sales, logistics, and leadership teams to support customer needs and business objectives.
  • Evaluate and recommend new equipment purchases, replacements, or retirements as needed.
  • Train and develop service personnel to enhance skills and uphold performance standards.
  • Troubleshooting the more difficult repairs to resolution to include following up with vendors, or utilizing 3rd parties who specialize in repairs. 
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience managing technicians, service operations, or rental equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic systems in a rental or service environment.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing people and processes.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and make informed decisions in a fast-paced setting.
  • Working knowledge of safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
  • Experience with equipment rental tracking systems or service management software preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to move up to 40 lbs.
  • Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in warehouse or yard conditions that are not always climate-controlled and may include heat and humidity.
  • Noise level may be loud at times.
  • Must be able to stand, move, and use hands regularly to interact with equipment and tools.
