Do you thrive on organization, precision, and making a meaningful impact? Join The Baby Fold’s Development and Public Relations team this fall and winter to support our Christmas Wish List Program—a cherished annual tradition where donors are matched with children’s toy wishes, giving them the opportunity to shop for and fulfill holiday dreams. As a Data Entry and Public Relations Intern, you'll play a vital behind-the-scenes role in ensuring every wish is tracked, fulfilled, and delivered with care.

This role is expected to work an average of 10 hours per week, with less hours in August and September, and more hours in October, November, and December.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit data management, client services, and donor relations—all while helping spread the spirit of the season

What You’ll Do:

Data Entry & List Management:

  • Type, organize, and maintain confidential client wish lists
  • Assign wish lists to donors and update internal trackers
  • Use Microsoft Excel  to log, sort, and manage data
  • Format wish details and communications using Microsoft Word
  • Maintain and organize a master binder of printed wish lists

Donor & Caseworker Communication:

  • Use Microsoft Outlook to email donors with lists and updates
  • Call donors to clarify or confirm wish details
  • Communicate with internal caseworkers to ensure wish accuracy
  • Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries and changes

Event Support:

  • Assist with day-of operations during Christmas Wish List Weekend in December (attendance mandatory)
  • Assist with event operations during Festival of Trees (Week of November 16-22)
  • Help stuff, organize, and distribute donated gifts
  • Kindly accept donations in-person at event

Organizational Tasks:

  • Keep accurate records of donor and client interactions in Microsoft Excel
  • Coordinate tracking of pending, assigned, and sent lists
  • Assist with administrative duties and project support during slower periods

What You’ll Gain:

  • Real-world experience in nonprofit operations, data management, and donor coordination
  • Increased proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strengthened communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • A portfolio of work contributing to a high-impact holiday outreach effort
  • Insight into the workings of a compassionate and mission-driven nonprofit

Who You Are:

  • Organized, accurate, and skilled in managing digital and physical files
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Friendly and clear communicator—both in writing and over the phone
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and respectful of confidential information
  • A team player who is willing to pitch in wherever needed
