Description
Position: Student Health Coordinator – Part-Time
Reports To: Principal
Job Summary
The School Student Health Coordinator at Christ the King Jesuit College Prep serves as a key healthcare provider and educator within the school community. Grounded in the school’s Christian values, the Student Health Coordinator promotes student wellness, prevents illness and injury, and supports a safe, healthy learning environment. This part-time position requires a compassionate and organized professional who can assess health needs, respond to medical issues, and guide students and families in accessing appropriate care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide prompt triage and care for students with acute and chronic health concerns.
- Act as the primary point of contact for parents regarding student health issues.
- Maintain up-to-date and confidential student health records in compliance with school and legal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations established by school sponsors, the State of Illinois, and the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) in coordination with the CWSP and Athletic Department.
- Organize annual health initiatives, including:
- Mobile van services for physicals and immunizations
- Bi-annual cardiac screening in collaboration with Young Hearts for Life
- Serve as a liaison to community health resources and coordinate referrals as needed.
- Provide health-related education grounded in Christian values to students, staff, and families.
- Educate families about public health resources, including insurance programs and local healthcare providers.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, counselors, the registrar, and the athletic director.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as counseling, academics, discipline, and the Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP) to support student well-being.
Requirements
Education & Certification:
- CPR and First Aid certification (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related health field (preferred)
- Experience or training in school health, pediatrics, or adolescent medicine (preferred)
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a school, pediatric, or community health setting
- Excellent clinical assessment and triage skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage confidential student records in accordance with HIPAA and FERPA
- Familiarity with public health systems and community resources
- Comfortable working in a faith-based educational environment

Salary Description
