The primary duty of the Training Coordinator/Instructor (with CLS Duties as Required)

Position Summary:
A highly organized and proactive Training Coordinator for F-16 maintenance personnel under the Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) contract for the Iraq F-16 Program at Martyr Brigadier General Ali Flaih Air Base (AFAB), a Government of Iraq (GoI) military facility. The Training Coordinator/Instructor is responsible for establishing, implementing, and sustaining the Maintenance Training Function (MTF) in compliance with AFI 36-2650, DAFI 21-101, and related directives. This includes managing all aspects of training—skill-level upgrades, qualifications, and both formal and informal instruction—for Iraqi Air Force (IqAF) personnel. Key duties include developing and delivering structured classroom and hands-on training, maintaining accurate training records, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and serving as the primary training liaison within the unit. The position also includes supporting CLS maintenance operations as needed to ensure mission readiness. Successful applicants must be willing to work and live in Iraq for a minimum of one-year with a mid-year trip home.
Essential Functions of the Position:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all training matters within the maintenance group, ensuring compliance with AFI 36-2650 and customer requirements.
• Develop, schedule, and coordinate training programs, including initial, upgrade, proficiency, qualification, recurring, and certification training for maintenance personnel.
• Support access to and training on USG-sponsored systems including AFSAC Online, IDTODS, FETODS, and TCG portals.
• Prepare and deliver required briefings, such as the quarterly Training Analysis Briefing (TAB) and monthly Status of Training briefings, to leadership and stakeholders.
• Create and maintain an MTF Technical Training Plan with three-phase structure (organizational design, personnel, and resource requirements).
Aviation instruction/coordination is a highly specialized function. The Training coordinator/instructor job requirements:

Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance (F-16 platform preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in training coordination, maintenance training, or related field (military or civilian). “T” prefix instructor designation is advantageous.
• For civilian-trained candidates: FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license required.
• Craftsman-level qualification (USAF 7-level equivalent) in relevant maintenance specialty.
• Familiarity with AFI 36-2650, DAFI 36-2670, and Air Force maintenance training programs strongly preferred.
• Previous experience supporting international FMS (Foreign Military Sales) programs.
• Prior experience in Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) or maintenance operations is a plus.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other standard business software.
