Description

The benefits administrator is responsible for consistently and compassionately supporting the delivery of benefits and leave management programs to the GU community (health benefits, wellness programs, retirement plan, workers compensation, compliance, risk management, leaves of absence, etc). This role follows established procedures, creates documentation and reporting on those procedures and makes recommendations for ongoing improvements. Reporting to the VP, People and Culture. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Create a welcoming and inclusive relationship with all members of the Campus community to support them in navigating their benefits and leaves. 
  • Oversee the daily administration of employee benefits programs by proactively providing accurate and complete information to employees regarding all facets of enrolling, changing and utilizing their benefits in an accessible and compassionate manner. 
  • Manage the medical and family leave programs to ensure proper outreach, documentation, filing and follow-up for all employee populations and ensure adherence to process and procedures. 
  • Work with vendors and campus partner offices to ensure employee data is correct and benefits are delivered within stated timelines. This includes conducting monthly audits to ensure benefits are being correctly entered into payroll. 
  • Make recommendations for ongoing process improvements for the administration of leaves and delivery of benefits including communication plans, documentation practices, reporting procedures, open enrollment, vendor evaluation, etc. 
  • Maintains personnel data and may update personnel information in Paylocity as needed. Assists in the maintenance of employee files, including scanning of various files/records. May participate in I-9 tracking, reviews and/or audits. Manage fresh desk ticket system providing excellent customer service. Maintains and updates online resources such as campus services, employee handbook, etc. 
  • Coordination/Calendar Support: Provide administrative coordination for VP, People and Culture, including calendar coordination of events, scheduling of training sessions and employee meetings. Coordinates and manages the details for employee related programs and events in collaboration with People and Culture team. 
  • Coordinate reporting and compliance tasks as required by state, federal and local laws for all benefit and leave programs.
Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 2-3 years experience in a benefits role. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employee benefits programs and regulations 
  • The ability to clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, complex processes in an accessible way. e Acommitment to consistently providing excellent support for all members of the GU community.

Preferred

  • Experience administering retirement plan 
  • Experience in or familiarity with payroll administration or processes 
  • Experience with process improvement 
  • Comfortable using complex data and reporting systems including Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and vendor interfaces

Salary Band: $29,250-$88,000/ Annually. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions and department budget.
