Description

Position Summary

The Project Manager is not only responsible for ensuring the successful execution of projects but also for cultivating new business opportunities relative to a particular client, client group, geographic area, or project type. This position ensures successful project execution by overseeing finances, schedules, and technical aspects in accordance with contract requirements, project plans, and corporate policies. Other responsibilities include preparing proposals, estimating costs, developing and forecasting schedules, planning projects, overseeing design and field execution, and managing project closeout.


  

Essential Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures. 
  • Define project goals, policies, processes, and performance benchmarks within job specifications, project requirements, and company policies. Develop project schedules, budgets, and plans for successful project performance (positive client evaluations - CPAR).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with all clients by strategically planning and providing direction on all client-facing communications as necessary to effectively meet project objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Pre-Construction and Proposal Teams during the proposal preparation process when negotiating applicable modifications, adjustments, and additions to proposal agreements with architects, engineers, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Identify, plan, organize, and assist with project staffing needs, adhering to the organization's internal and external hiring practices, and coordinating with the field operations manager.
  • Ensure projects are completed according to the schedule, established quality standards, and within the budgetary parameters to attain favorable client evaluations
  • Ensure project profitability by effectively managing the financial aspects, including preparing and submitting budget estimates, progress reports, and cost-tracking reports as necessary. While concurrently protecting the organization's interests and maintaining positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors. 
  • Request vendors, supplies, materials, or equipment within the approved guidelines
  • Act as the QCM (Quality Control Manager), SSHO (Site Safety and Health Officer), or Superintendent to provide temporary support on-site when necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Required Skills

  • Capable of developing and encouraging a cohesive team environment to accomplish project objectives through collaborative efforts.
  • Effectively represents the organization professionally through all forms of communication, including written correspondence, virtual interactions, and face-to-face meetings with clients, team members, and other stakeholders, to strengthen relationships and drive business growth.
  • Knowledgeable in construction or related technology, scheduling, procedures, equipment, project contracts, plan and specification reading, financial planning and tracking is required.
  • Experience using Primavera P6, Microsoft 365 programs, and, more specifically, Microsoft Project
  • Ability to adjust to changing circumstances, embrace new ideas, and readily adapt strategies as needed. 
  • Proven Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision, deliver high-quality results, and effectively manage tasks and responsibilities.

 Education and Experience

  •  Preferred USA MILCON Experience working with the USACE and/or NAVFAC for 5 or more years
  • Fluent bilingual abilities to speak, write, and read both English and Japanese 
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management/engineering (Civil, Mechanical, and/or Electrical)/science, and seven or more years of similar outside project management-related experience, or
  • Associate’s degree in construction management/engineering (Civil, Mechanical, and/or Electrical)/science, and nine or more years of similar outside project management experience, or


Reporting Structure

  •  Reports to the Director of Operations
  • This position has direct reports.

Travel

  • 20% - 50% Travel Required 
  • Travel frequency is subject to change based on project volume and scope. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, be insurable on the company insurance, and be able to travel as required
  • Must be able to pass a background check to access a military base

Physical Requirements

This position may Team Members to work in the Field and office setting. When working in the field Team Members will work around moving heavy machinery, equipment, and outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, humidity, and cold. The noise level may be loud at times due to machinery and equipment. Must be able to move objects weighing up to 40 lbs. using abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support repetitively for 10 to 20

minute intervals without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs for the duration of shift. When in the office, Team Members can anticipate Sedentary work in a climate controlled environment with moderate noise levels. Most duties performed require the use of a computer, phone, and in person, or virtual meetings. Maintain a stationary position for prolonged periods during the shift. Constant operation of computer and other office equipment such as copy machine, phone, and printer. Occasionally transport objects up to 15 lbs. such as small parcels, packages, and other items.
