Status: Full-Time, Monday- Friday

Responsibilities:
- Instruct, organize, and lead activities designed to promote social, physical, spiritual, and intellectual growth such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and field trips.
- Encourage growth in godliness of character and action.
- Resourcefulness with provided curriculum and other materials to provide children with an interactive, learning environment.
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order through indirect guidance principles.
- Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior, social/spiritual development, and physical health.
- Designs and presents individual lesson plans in one or more academic subjects using a variety of teaching techniques that appeal to various learning styles and methods.
- Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress and needs, determine their priorities for their children, and suggest ways that they can promote learning and development.
- Prepare and organize materials and classrooms for class activities.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Positively support the school's policies and practices and work collaboratively in a professional organization.
- Build partnerships with parents through proactive communication.
- Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives to children while adapting teaching methods and materials to meet varying student interests.
- Collaborate with other teachers and administrators.
- Employees may be required to follow other job-related instructions or perform other job-related duties requested by a supervisor in compliance with Federal and State Laws

Requirements
- At least 18 years old & completion of college degree and teacher certification for WA State
- Social Security Card or Federal EIN
- Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors.
- Must be able to assume postures at low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.
- Read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents in English (multi-language speaking)
- Previous experience working with early childhood and/or elementary age, and knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods.
Currently have or willingness to obtain:
- Complete Child Sex Abuse Training
- TB Test (results within 1 year)
- Immunization Records or waiver (must include MMR, antibody titer labs, or exemption documents)
- Child Care Basics Training (Initial 30 Hours STARS or Exempt)
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Pass both local and federal background checks.
