Arkansas Foodbank is seeking an energetic and organized Volunteer Experience and Outreach Coordinator (VEOC). The VEOC serves a vital role in ensuring all volunteers at the Arkansas Foodbank have a positive and meaningful experience. This position acts as an advocate for the organization by recruiting volunteers, scheduling volunteer opportunities, and maintaining positive rapport with all individuals and organizations who donate their time and resources to the Arkansas Foodbank. This position will occasionally require evening and weekend work.

The Volunteer Experience and Outreach Coordinator will be comfortable learning new technology, as well as an eagerness to utilize Arkansas Foodbank software systems. They will possess strong interpersonal skills, a spirit of collaboration and teamwork, and a commitment to hunger relief.

- Serves as the point of contact for potential and active volunteers while working as a liaison between volunteer operations, programs, and development to ensure a seamless experience for volunteers.
- Acts as a visible and knowledgeable resource for those interested in volunteering with Arkansas Foodbank. Represent the Foodbank externally in volunteer fairs, recruitment events and speaking engagements to build volunteer base.
- Organize and lead tours of the Foodbank facilities for visitors and volunteers as needed.
- Cultivate and maintain diverse relationships with all corporate, service and community partners, as well as individual volunteers and donors.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless volunteer experience, aligned with organizational policies and procedures.
- Partner across teams to support volunteer training, onboarding, communications, and engagement strategies — including initiatives to move volunteers through the donor pipeline and support partner agencies requesting volunteer assistance.
- Serve as administrator for volunteer management software system, maintain accurate records, and create reports as needed.
- Help the organization achieve its operational goal of expanding volunteer capacity by developing and effectively implementing an effective volunteer recruitment strategy. Evaluate and modify recruitment strategies as needed.
- Develop appropriate recognition tools for volunteers to feel welcomed and valued.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive and accurate understanding of the Arkansas Foodbank’s mission, programs, and services, while also staying informed of, and understanding, the organization's needs.
- Develop and manage the volunteer budget
- Serve as the primary greeter for volunteers entering the building, ensuring the Volunteer Center is welcoming, engaging, and properly set up, with refreshments readily available. Develop a fun interactive volunteer experience in conjunction with the volunteer operations team.
- Ensure all new volunteers receive the Arkansas Foodbank Volunteer Orientation.
- Responsible for maintaining food drive calendar and scheduling pick-ups and drop-offs with partners.
- Respond to group volunteer requests on behalf of the organization, in a timely manner.
- Develop, coordinate, and execute appropriate recruitment, stewardship and recognition plan for volunteers..
- Develops educational opportunities for volunteers and tour groups regarding hunger and food insecurity in conjunction with Marketing, Development and Programs staff.
- Plan and execute volunteer events including but not limited to the annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon Spring and Fall Pack-a-thons, the Ambassadors Program, and other volunteer related events.
- Collaborate with Operations and Development to develop communications for volunteers and food drive donors including regular newsletters.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Volunteer team to conduct annual volunteer surveys. Summarize data and make recommendations based on volunteer feedback.
- Attend required staff meetings, training, and conferences.
- Verify volunteer hours as requested by schools, companies, and court-ordered community service.

Working Conditions
This job operates primarily in a professional office environment but will travel across the 33-county service are to support recruitment and community outreach efforts. The employee is occasionally exposed to hot and/or humid conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift/move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently required to operate vehicles.

- Equivalent of a bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) preferably in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field or three years of experience in Development, Volunteer Management, or Community Relations, preferably in the not-for-profit sector.
- Willingness and ability to travel within Arkansas Foodbank's 33-county service area to support outreach efforts.
- Familiarity with computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, and donor/volunteer database.
- Effective public speaker; comfortable delivering program content and representing the organization to internal and external audiences.
- Ability to conduct oneself in a calm and professional manner when dealing with the public and/or with difficult situations.
- Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff and volunteers.
- Ability to effectively coordinate a wide array of tasks, projects, and responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail.
