Position Summary: Aldevra is currently seeking a qualified General Engineer to support the Veterans Affairs (VA) Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).  The General Engineer provides professional engineering support to ensure the safe, effective, and compliant operation of VA facilities. This role involves planning, coordinating, and overseeing facility-related projects, maintenance, and engineering services at the Mobile, AL Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). This position is contingent upon contract award.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and review designs, plans, and specifications for facility renovations and improvements
  • Provide technical oversight for construction, maintenance, and repair projects
  • Perform site inspections and evaluate building systems for compliance with VA standards and codes
  • Prepare cost estimates, schedules, and scopes of work for facility projects
  • Coordinate with contractors, facility staff, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure safety, energy efficiency, and sustainability are incorporated into project execution
  • Maintain engineering documentation and prepare technical reports as required
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

Security Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain VA Badge.

This position requires passing an extensive background check.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, or related field) from an ABET-accredited institution
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in facilities engineering, construction management, or a related field
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, VA design guides, and construction standards
  • Proficient in interpreting plans, specifications, and technical documents
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Excellent and accurate written communication
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems; online calendars and cloud systems; intermediate to advanced skills Microsoft office products required
  • Excellent attention to detail; accurate data entry
  • Customer Focused and team-oriented work ethic
  • Able to multi-task efficiently and accurately, focusing on quality
