As a Traveling Installation Manager at Waites, you’ll be the on-the-ground leader for customer installations, ensuring that our wireless sensor systems are installed smoothly and that the customer experience is top-notch. You’ll manage a small team during each trip, coordinate logistics, stay in touch with internal departments, and create a professional, safe, and upbeat work environment. Reports to: Manager of Installation Services

Location: Must reside near airport (ideally an international hub but not required)

Travel: 80-100% travel - Domestic & International

  • Maximum of 21 days a month on the road, not to exceed 2 weeks away at a time for domestic projects
  • Some variance with international travel

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Job Description:

This position will give you the opportunity to support:

Project & Installation Oversight

  • Lead and execute equipment installations on various types of industrial machinery
  • Own responsibility for team performance, project planning, scheduling, and on-site execution
  • Ensure projects are appropriately staffed and team assignments are carried out effectively
  • Schedule product shipments and manage on-site inventory
  • Maintain daily operations and ensure work environments meet client-specific cleanliness and compliance standards
  • Coordinate travel accommodations and logistics for on-site teams
  • Ensure all site-related activities and timelines are executed smoothly and efficiently

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and mentor the installation team; provide feedback and coaching to ensure performance
  • Conduct performance reviews and lead difficult conversations when needed
  • Support onboarding for new hires and partner with trainers to ensure Day One readiness
  • Train and support development of both new and existing employees

Communication & Collaboration

  • Serve as primary on-site contact for customer issues prior to escalation
  • Communicate daily with internal teams and leadership to align on project progress and needs
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure clear and complete project information is shared in advance
  • Act as an extension of the leadership team when rolling out new policies, processes, or business changes

Customer Experience & Safety 

  • Maintain strong working relationships with customer Points of Contact (POC)
  • Train customers on proper sensor handling, including removal and replacement procedures
  • Ensure POC signs off on installation completion forms
  • Uphold Waites and OSHA Health, Safety, and Environmental policies on all job sites
  • Act as a champion for health and safety practices, company changes, and policy updates

Reporting & Compliance 

  • Meet end-of-day (EOD) and end-of-installation (EOI) reporting requirements on time and with professionalism
  • Support internal audits and special projects as needed
  • May assist with system/network specialist work when not actively on assignment
  • Additional responsibilities as needed/required
Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Proficient with Google Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A positive, can-do attitude and teamwork mentality
  • Dependable, self-motivated, positive attitude, teamwork mentality
  • Excellent organization, management and customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task within a fast-paced environment
  • Must be available to work 40 hours/week, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to learn new software or apps quickly and implement
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and have a valid drivers license
  • Comfortable leading and communicating with groups of people.
  • Travel as required
  • You have a working knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
  • You possess job-related certifications-OSHA 10, MSHA, Fall Protection, Working at Heights, lift certified, First Aid, and client required certifications

Working Conditions:

  • Walk/use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or tools / Reach with hands and arms / Climb ladders and stairs / Crawl/kneel
  • Sit, talk, listen, observe, read, write, and type
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Perform work on-site in industrial, commercial, and residential locations
