Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Charter Flight Dispatcher to join our flight operations team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all charter flight operations. The current fleet includes 10 aircraft ranging from King Air 350 to a Gulfstream 550 operating both under Part 135 and Part 91. The ideal candidate is experienced in flight planning, FAA regulations, and customer service, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and dispatch charter flights in compliance with company policies and FAA regulations (Part 135).
- Prepare flight release packages, including weather briefings, NOTAMs, and route planning in accordance with company GOM’s and SOP’s
- Maintain delegated operational control for flights and seek approvals when necessary and required.
- Monitor and track aircraft movements in real-time using flight tracking software.
- Executes notifications for arrivals and/or departures (Customs, PQ, MDAD, APIS)
- Communicate effectively with flight crews, maintenance, clients, and vendors to ensure seamless operations.
- Review aircraft availability, crew duty/rest limitations, and aircraft maintenance status.
- Assist with scheduling of crews, aircraft, and support services for charter trips.
- Respond to operational disruptions, delays, or diversions with prompt solutions.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of all dispatched flights.
- Coordinate ground handling, fuel, catering, hotels, and transportation for flight crews and passengers.
- Provide exceptional service to clients and charter brokers, including last-minute requests and itinerary changes.
- International trip planning requirements include coordination with flight planning companies, handlers and obtain required landing and overflight permits.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of dispatch, scheduling, or operations experience in Part 135 or Part 91 environment.
- FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate (preferred but not required).
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, aircraft performance, and weather systems.
- Proficiency with dispatch and scheduling software (e.g., Jet Insight, FOS, Avianis, Fl3XX and Fueler Linx
.) - Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, word and Outlook
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operation—including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based role with regular computer and phone use.
- Must be able to respond to time-sensitive operational issues quickly.
- Occasional extended hours during peak periods or emergencies.
- Relocation to Richmond preferred but not required.
