We work with hundreds of college and professional teams and major sporting events to deliver exceptional fan experiences, including full-service tailgates, premium hospitality events and exclusive ticket packages. REVELxp at Penn State is currently seeking interns for 6-month assignments. As an Sales Operations and Fulfillment Seasonal Associate you will be exposed to all aspects of the business lines (Sales/Marketing, Production, and Fulfillment) that support  Penn State Football Premium Tailgating gameday relationships. 

 

Special emphasis will be placed on Sales/Marketing support, to develop promising interns into candidates for future Event Manager roles within the company. Each intern will report directly to the General Manager. The ideal candidates will possess excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to gather and synthesize key information, and the ability to work effectively with a variety of colleagues across multiple levels and geographies.   

 

KEY ASSIGNMENTS AND DELIVERABLES 

Each intern will work on projects that offer exposure to various aspects of our business. Primary assignments will be determined by the General Manager based on need, interest, and skill set. Each assignment deals with an area of identified need within our office and culminates with a specific deliverable and presentation to the office and regional management. Examples of assignments may include, but are not limited to the following: 

 

Marketing Collateral and Client Communications  

  • Develop branded digital and print collateral for use at business development events, during gameday tailgates, and in premium hospitality spaces. 
  • Create standardized client copy for use in email communications (inbound inquiries, sales confirmations, etc.) as well at various points in the sales cycle. 

Revenue Review and Analysis 

  • Review 2024 revenue at Penn State location 
  • Create an analysis detailing relevant buyer trends.  

Vendor Pricing and Competitive Analysis 

  • Create a detailed analysis of market rate pricing in the event rental space. 

Sustainability Opportunity Analysis 

  • Review and outline existing sustainability practices at each campus. 
  • Develop detailed recommendations for leveraging existing practices/partnerships to reduce costs and waste. 

Production Efficiency Analysis 

  • Review and outline production labor costs for the upcoming season. 

Operational Excellence and Leadership 

  • Take ownership of production day set up for Penn State Football home games  
  • Oversee team of event staff to effectively communicate responsibilities, game day focus, expectations, and more  
Requirements

WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT CANDIDATE? 

  • Currently enrolled or recent graduate of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in any of the following areas: Sports Administration; Business Management; Journalism or Communications. Candidates pursuing other relevant degrees of study are welcome to apply. 
  • Knowledge of sports and the excitement surrounding in-person events is a plus. 
  • Self-motivation that drives individual results while being a strong team player 
  • Possess a high energy, strong desire to achieve top results with a charismatic, positive “can-do” attitude. 
  • Effectively communicate in verbal and written forms 
  • Proficient in Excel, Smartsheet, and Word, familiarity with Canva or other design software a plus 
  • Ability to work weekends in the fall as part of our gameday Operations Team is a requirement regardless of the timing of the internship. 
  • Availability for all six Penn State home football games and the accompanying production days
