The Solutions Architect will support the Sr. Director of IT & Cybersecurity in designing, integrating, and evolving Fervo’s technical architecture across applications, infrastructure, and cloud platforms. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in systems engineering or solutions architecture who is ready to step into broader enterprise-level thinking.  You will collaborate with stakeholders across IT, operations, software, and data to improve system performance, ensure seamless integrations, and contribute to a growing architecture strategy that supports Fervo’s rapid scale. This position is designed as a growth opportunity and will evolve as the organization scales.

Responsibilities

• Partner with technical and business teams to design and implement scalable, secure systems across cloud and on-prem environments
• Support the development of enterprise architecture documentation, standards, and integration guidelines
• Assist in designing APIs, data pipelines, and system interfaces to support business operations and analytics
• Collaborate on systems planning, upgrades, and migrations, including infrastructure, SaaS, and ERP tools
• Contribute to risk assessments, disaster recovery planning, and infrastructure optimization initiatives
• Interface with OT stakeholders to help integrate asset data into Fervo’s broader data ecosystem
• Stay informed on emerging technologies and propose new tools or platforms where appropriate
• Participate in recurring architecture and IT planning sessions with cybersecurity, cloud, and applications teams

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
• 4–7 years of experience in IT systems, cloud infrastructure, or technical architecture roles
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), SaaS systems, and enterprise IT ecosystems
• Proficiency in system integration concepts and API-driven architecture
• Strong communication skills and comfort working with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Systems thinker with curiosity and adaptability 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise software like ERP, HRIS, or CRM platforms
• Exposure to IT/OT integration or infrastructure-heavy operating environments
• Familiarity with architecture or cloud governance frameworks (TOGAF, AWS Well-Architected, etc.)
• Interest in energy, infrastructure, or climate-tech industries

Location

Fervo Energy is headquartered in Houston, TX with growing offices in Oakland, CA, Golden, CO, Reno, NV, and Salt Lake City, UT. This position will be eligible for some hybrid work flexibility, but regular in-office presence at the Houston office will be required. Occasional travel may be required.
