We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Operations Specialist to support and improve plant operations across multiple McIntosh Box & Pallet locations. Ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is interested in long-term growth toward plant leadership roles.
Schedule: Monday to Friday 7am to 4 pm but hours can vary
Pay: $41,000 - $49,000
An Operations Specialist will play a key role in the planning, coordination, and oversight of manufacturing processes, with a focus on efficiency, quality, and operational excellence.
Operations Specialist Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating daily production schedules, workflows, and inventory levels to ensure timely and efficient output.
- Administer and continuously improve operations procedures; ensure documentation is accurate, accessible, and up to date.
- Instruct plant personnel in system operations, safe work practices, and equipment maintenance procedures.
- Monitor plant performance through KPIs; identify and address operational challenges, quality issues, and equipment inefficiencies.
- Lead or support project initiatives tied to maintenance, plant improvement, and potential new plant openings (within 2–3 years).
- Perform root cause analysis of equipment and system failures; propose and implement solutions.
- Support and monitor the implementation of new equipment, systems, and processes to improve plant operations.
- Partner with plant managers and staff to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement across sites.
- Assist with budgeting, departmental reporting, and resource allocation.
- Conduct regular quality control checks and safety reviews to maintain product and workplace standards.
- Travel to various plant locations to provide hands-on operational support.
Requirements
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or technical operations environment preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Technical aptitude to analyze systems, procedures, and maintenance practices.
- Comfortable instructing others and leading small projects.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel between plant locations regularly.
