Logistics Associate - Hiring Immediately

Description

We are currently looking for a Logistics Associate I. This position is conveniently located in Hoffman Estates, IL. 


Responsibilities:

The Logistics Associate I will be assigned a starting team and will eventually be trained to perform tasks across all departments. Logistics teams include: shipping, receiving, de-install, warehouse, and inventory management.

As an entry-level position, the Logistics Associate I works under close to moderate supervision, following clearly defined processes and adhering to quality and safety guidelines. The Logistics Associate I has basic skills within assigned team, some advanced skills within the assigned team and/or basic skills across teams.

  • Load and unload trucks and move material within the warehouse and other parts of the facility 
  • Use pallet jacks and occasionally use a riding forklift or scissor lift to transport items 
  • Use ordering and ticketing software to track and manage daily work
  • Accurately receive equipment and materials and verify them against shipment and internal records
  • Accurately pack and ship large volumes of POS (point of sale) and computer equipment
  • Process outbound shipments using UPS, FedEx and LTL Carrier web sites
  • Communicate and follow-through with internal customers to resolve issues
  • Fulfill requisitions, work orders, or requests for stock items and distribute to appropriate areas
  • Sort and put away inventory on into appropriate racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
  • Mark inventory with identifying information and update system with number and type of items received or distributed
  • Verify inventory in system through cycle counts, investigate discrepancies and adjust errors
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required 
  • Basic MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Basic math, reading comprehension and writing skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. and stand for the majority of the work day
  • Understanding of shipping, receiving, packing and delivery of goods preferred
  • Knowledge of UPS and FedEx shipping software preferred
  • Forklift experience preferred
