Economic Development Data Assistant
Description

The Economic Development Data Assistant is responsible for collecting and analyzing all data used to aid in organizational planning, grant reporting, organize and interpret statistical data as requested by the Flint and Genesee Group (FGG).


*** Position is Mostly On-site***


  1. Work with Grants & Development, Accounting/Finance, and program staff to capture data and provide reports that aid in the submission of grant applications and reports
  2. Provide technical assistance to staff and others in the analysis and interpretation of information, including program/organization evaluation and metrics
  3. Gather and analyzing data from external sources, to assist organization in economic development strategies
  4. Maintain data sharing agreements with external partner organizations; serve as the liaison between FGG & partner organizations
  5. Great proficiency in translating and analyzing data, using statistical methods to generate clear and effective recommendations
  6. Able to translate project or grant requirements into custom surveys and data reporting tools
  7. Work with departments and action groups to create and monitor a prioritized list of data needs
  8. Create system and processes for effective data capture and evaluation across multiple programs, activities, etc., that is aligned with FGG strategic plan
  9. Manage and track the organization’s monthly metrics, using data collected from action groups and departments

Other Duties:

  1. Represent the Group at meetings or events where data collection, analysis, and reporting are necessary
  2. Respond to short order research inquiries from Group partners and staff
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data in meaningful ways
  • Familiar with publicly available data sources, able to source reliable data
  • Strong ability to work as part of multiple teams
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people including but not limited to business clients, board members, Chamber members, governmental representatives, and FGG staff
  • Ability to produce high quality reports and other documents under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated advanced level ability in the use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

  • Must possess critical understanding of projects undertaken by the Group in order to provide appropriate level of data support
  • Must possess high level of confidentiality due to the nature of work performed
