About the Role The Agronomy Sales Leader is responsible for developing and executing the agronomy sales strategy across a defined region or group of retail locations. This leadership role drives top-line growth by coaching and managing a high-performing sales team, building strong customer relationships, and promoting crop input solutions—including seed, crop protection, fertilizer, and precision ag services. The Agronomy Sales Leader ensures alignment with the company’s agronomic, operational, and financial goals.

**This role will cover the eastern territory of Iowa - Travel is required.

What will you do?

  • Lead and Support Account Managers: Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and accountability to the Agronomy Strategic Account Managers. Guide their development and performance in managing legacy accounts and securing new agronomy business..
  • Strategic Oversight of Key Accounts: Develop and implement strategic sales plans that align with seasonal goals and company initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Growth, Grain, and Agronomy Operations teams to coordinate on customer strategies, optimize product and service offerings, and support integrated sales  approaches.
  • Field Engagement and Relationship Building: Maintain a visible presence in the field with key growers and the agronomy team. Attend customer visits and grower meetings to support team members and strengthen Landus’ presence.
  • Sales Strategy and Performance Tracking: Monitor competitive activity, market trends, and customer needs to adapt sales strategies accordingly.
  • Promote a High-Performance Culture: Foster a collaborative, accountable, and customer-focused team environment. Encourage professional growth and      recognize team achievements.
  • Training       and Development: Ensure sales staff are trained and      knowledgeable in agronomy products, digital tools, and customer engagement best practices. Lead business development efforts, including identifying new customers and growth opportunities.
  • Pricing and Inventory Coordination: Help set pricing strategies, forecast product needs, and manage inventory plans in coordination with location managers
  • Uphold      Professional Standards: Model and enforce a professional appearance, conduct, and representation of Landus across all external and internal  engagements.
Requirements

  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of agronomy or agricultural sales experience, including leadership of direct reports or cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to coach and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of agronomic solutions including crop nutrition, soil health,  pest and disease management.
  • Solid understanding of retail business operations, including budgeting, inventory, and margin management.
  • Demonstrated   ability to meet or exceed team sales targets and drive growth initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; confident presenting to both internal teams and customers.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and retail software.
  • Willingness  to travel regularly to support your team, meet customers, and attend industry events.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) designation is a plus.
