Description

 The San Francisco Conservatory of Music invites applicants to teach a course on music for games, film, and other media (MHL 340) for the fall 2025 semester. This course is required for our undergraduate Technology and Applied Composition (TAC) degree and cross-listed within our music history department. More specifically, this course provides a survey of music used to develop, transform, and underscore emotion in visual media such as film, video games, virtual reality, TV, animation, and more. The course involves discussion and analysis of theoretical topics related to the experience and development of music for visual media through the use of specific exceptional examples. Additionally, this course includes integration of topics related to social justice, racial minorities, and global perspectives, as it relates to music and visual media.  

  •  Start - end date: September 2, 2025 - December 15, 2025. 
  •  Part-time, Fridays from 11am-12:50pm; 2hrs a week for 14 weeks 
  •  Compensation: $3,881.36 
Requirements
  •  Candidates should have completed an advanced degree in music or a related field, or hold ABD status with degree completion guaranteed by August 1, 2025. 
  • Candidates should have demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level. 
  • Candidates should have a strong portfolio and ongoing work in creative and/or scholarly activities.

$3,881.36
