JOB SUMMARY
The Website Coordinator plays a key role in connecting the community with Laramie County Library System (LCLS) by creating and managing engaging, user-centered content across multiple platforms. This position’s primary responsibility is to manage and maintain the library’s website and staff intranet, ensuring a dynamic, accessible, and up-to-date digital presence.
With a strong foundation in website management, SEO, and content strategy, the coordinator also supports broader marketing initiatives by contributing to newsletters, brochures, social media, and other communication channels. The role includes collaborating with consultants on projects and technical issues, using analytics to enhance website traffic and performance, optimizing digital tools, and providing training to staff on web and intranet systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintains and administers LCLS websites and intranet, ensuring functionality, accessibility, and up-to-date content.
2. In collaboration with the MaC Manager, performs daily website maintenance, including updating pages and forms, checking links, and reviewing monthly reports for site errors.
3. Follows established procedures and protocols related to server access, installation, and user rights, as directed by the Deputy Director of Operations and IT Manager.
4. In collaboration with the MaC Manager, communicates with the Deputy Director of Operations and IT Manager regarding costs for necessary upgrades, software, and equipment.
5. Analyzes and implements technical solutions for the organization’s websites in coordination with the MaC Manager.
6. Provides support to staff regarding website-related issues or troubleshooting as needed.
7. Monitor and interpret analytics to track user behavior and traffic patterns across the library’s websites and social media channels, using data to improve usability and user engagement.
8. Support in the development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies to promote library services, programs, and the library brand. This includes creating and maintaining content for press releases, newsletters, blogs, social media, capturing photos and video content to highlight library events and services, as well as supporting internal communications and grant initiatives.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
· Three years of relevant experience with website content management using WordPress or demonstrated ability to learn. Must have basic knowledge of web design, content management systems, digital accessibility and usability, SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics.
· Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Must show proof of eligibility to work in the United States
· Considerable knowledge in the use of or demonstrated ability to learn current software applications such as Microsoft Office Pro, WordPress and other applicable software
· Good project management skills and ability to meet project deadlines
· Excellence in written and oral communication and relationship building
· Ability to troubleshoot software programs
· Skill in working with public entities, committees or teams, and individuals with varied backgrounds
· Good creative and interpretive skills
· Working knowledge of public library operations
· Ability to work with limited supervision, with an aptitude for detailed work and proficiency in prioritizing tasks
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Experience with video production and editing, particularly for social media and digital advertising.
· Familiarity with design and editing tools such as Canva, CapCut (or similar), and Adobe Creative Suite.

WORK SCHEDULE
Work schedule will predominantly be normal business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. or a variation thereof) Monday through Friday but may consist of weekend and evening hours as well. Anyone who works for the library must be willing to work anytime the library is open. Laramie County Library (Cheyenne) open hours are Monday – Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. All employees are scheduled to attend monthly staff meetings and in-service days in Cheyenne.
BENEFITS
· LCLS pays 100% of the employee contributions to the Wyoming Retirement System (WRS). WRS is a pension plan that will pay lifetime benefits, regardless of the account balance, when age and service requirements are met.
· LCLS also pays 100% of the premium for $25,000 term life insurance policy for the employee.
· This position receives paid time off for 13 holidays, vacation and sick leave, and an annual personal day.
· Vacation leave starts at two weeks per year for full-time employees and increases with years of service. Employees are eligible to take vacation after six months of employment.
· Medical insurance and a separate dental plan are available. LCLS pays 85% of medical and dental insurance premiums.
· A deferred compensation plan, prepaid legal services agreement, vision coverage, and other supplemental insurance options are also available at the employee’s expense.
· Employees may join the YMCA without an initiation fee.
· Employees may join the Cheyenne-Laramie County Employees Federal Credit Union.
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The essential duties and responsibilities of this job require the employee to move or manipulate moderately heavy equipment, boxes, carts, files and/or stacks of material from one location to another.
