Digital Press Operator
Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Digital Press Operator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating high-speed digital presses in a production environment. You will be responsible for setting up, running, and maintaining digital presses to ensure high-quality output and timely delivery. 

Requirements

Job Duties: 

  • Review job specifications from job jacket to determine press pre-sets 
  • Manipulate color calibration set up to meet expectations for color target 
  • Adjust press during production run as required for, adherence to all quality and customer requirements. 
  • Review all proofs and final product samples produced on digital equipment before releasing to customer 
  • Conduct regular and special maintenance on equipment to achieve maximum performance based on specifications and acquired knowledge of machine operation. 
  • Maintain schedules for digital print jobs 
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and parts 
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment 
  • Keep accurate record of time and materials on each job 
  • Communicate with others in a positive and helpful manner 
  • Work overtime as needed to meet customer expected delivery 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

 

Qualifications 

  • Working knowledge and understanding of color theory, imposition, and printing 
  • High school diploma, GED or at least one year of job specific work experience  
  • Ability to work as part of a team with a focus on safety
  • Familiarity with digital workflows (Fiery, Prisma, EFI, etc.)
  • Mathematical proficiency and the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations 
  • Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions and job jackets 
  • Mechanical aptitude and dexterity 
  • Problem solving skills 
  • Ability to read and understand safety and employment materials 
  • Ability to communicate clearly  
  • Ability to guide team members in the overall job operation  

 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift 
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts 
  • Exposure to inks 
  • Occasional moderate lifting up to 10 pounds 
  • May use solvents when cleaning: oils and alcohol replacement during upkeep and operation of unit 
  • Regular use of arms to reach 
  • Extensive bending and lifting 
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 30 pounds 
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise at varying levels.
