Primecare Medical Inc. is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in the medical department at the Schuylkill County Prison located in Pottsville, PA.
Full time dayshift LPN MAT- 2 eight-hour shifts and 2 twelve-hour shifts.
Part time dayshift LPN MAT - every other weekend and every other holiday required.
PRN all shifts available
Responsibilities:
The Licensed Practical Nurse will primarily be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care. Other responsibilities include:
- Maintaining security of all medical records
- Ensuring strict compliance to all applicable pharmacy regulations
- Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws
- Conducting sick call for inmate/patients and provide treatment for selected minor illnesses and injuries
- Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions and progress of patients and participating in the formulation of the plan of nursing care
- Record, retrieve and file medical information in the inmate/patient medical record
- Accompanies and assists PCM physicians during facility rounds

Requirements:
- Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state in which the facility is located.
- Clinical decision-making ability.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to function independently and demonstrating clinical competency.
- Ability to gain trust of patients and build a working relationship.
