POSITION TITLE: General Maintenance Technician

REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer

PROVIDES SUPERVISION TO: No Supervisory Duties

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS: The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections across the facility to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient environment. This hands-on role supports day-to-day operations by troubleshooting and resolving basic building, equipment, and system issues.

Responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with CWTC’s mission, policies, and in a manner that supports individuals with disabilities. All employees are required to attend mandated training sessions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Perform preventative maintenance, routine maintenance and minor repairs on building equipment/ systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
  2.  Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and facility infrastructure regularly.
  3.  Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from staff and management.
  4.  Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools, storage areas, and workspaces.
  5.  Assist with setting up and breakdown for facility events or activities, including moving furniture and equipment.
  6.  Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and services when needed.
  7.  Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records.
  8.  Follow safety procedures and comply with building codes and regulations.
  9. Occasionally assist other maintenance personnel at residential facilities as assigned
  10. On call for emergency assistance at facilities as needed and assigned
  11. Responsible for coordinating snow removal from sidewalks, ramps, alley areas, etc. 
  12. Daily opening of building, lights, HVAC, etc.   
  13. Perform PMs and minor repairs on all agency vehicles

 OTHER DUTIES:

  1. Report all concerns to supervisor

2. Coordinate multiple assignments concurrently

3. Perform other tasks, not inconsistent with qualifications or regular duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS: Physical requirements include lifting, pulling, pushing (possibly up to 60 pounds), bending, walking, climbing, and standing for long periods of time. Environmental factors include working indoors around dust, cardboard, and moving equipment and working outdoors around pollen, heat, cold and around slippery surfaces. Interpersonal factors include representing CWTC to the public regarding maintenance issues.

RELATED CONDITION: All employees are responsible for reporting any information, however acquired, pertaining to possible abuse or neglect of consumers to the Director of Quality Improvement, the Safety Director, or the Executive Director.

SAFETY AND ACCIDENT PREVENTION: Employees must follow all safety policies and use the necessary protective equipment when applicable. Employees are responsible for reporting safety hazards and/or accidents to their supervisors immediately. 


Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

High school diploma or equivalent

Five years maintenance experience

Valid drivers’ license and current auto insurance
