Fully Remote Indianapolis, IN Marketing
Job Type
Full-time
Description

At National Trade Supply, the Marketing Data & Analytics Manager bridges the gap between engineering and insights. This hybrid role is perfect for someone who thrives on building scalable data pipelines and unlocking insights that drive smarter marketing decisions.

You’ll lead the charge in structuring clean, usable data that fuels our reporting, dashboards, and experimentation. From campaign performance to customer retention, your work will help us see clearly, move faster, and act with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Analytics & Insights

  • Analyze campaign, retention, and funnel performance to identify opportunities for growth and optimization.
  • Build dashboards and self-serve tools that help teams track marketing KPIs and customer behavior.
  • Translate strategic marketing questions into structured data analyses and compelling narratives.
  • Support experimentation (A/B tests, pricing, promotional lift) with robust test design and analysis.

Data Engineering & Infrastructure

  • Own the marketing data stack — including dbt, Snowflake (or BigQuery), and data pipeline management.
  • Develop and maintain modular, scalable dbt models to support reporting and advanced analytics use cases.
  • Partner with internal teams and vendors to improve data capture, cleanliness, and usability across our stack (including ESPs, GA4, ecommerce, and customer data).
  • Ensure consistent data definitions, model documentation, and lineage across tables and systems.
  • Monitor performance and reliability of pipelines and BI tools, identifying and resolving issues proactively.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing, Product, eCommerce, and IT to align data infrastructure with business goals.
  • Be the go-to person for understanding what’s possible (and how to get there) with our data.
  • Train marketing team members on tools and dashboards so they can explore insights confidently.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in ecommerce analytics, data engineering, or analytics engineering roles.
  • Experience working in eCommerce or subscription-based businesses.
  • Strong experience with dbt (data build tool) for transforming data in cloud warehouses.
  • Proficiency with SQL and data warehouses like Snowflake (preferred) or BigQuery.
  • Experience managing ELT pipelines and integrating diverse marketing data sources (GA4, ESPs, ecommerce platforms).
  • Experience with BI platforms such as Preset (Apache Superset), Power BI, or Looker.
  • Python skills (e.g., pandas, NumPy) a plus for data analysis and automation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills — especially when working with non-technical stakeholders.
  • High degree of curiosity, critical thinking, and ownership.

The Outcome We’re Looking For

  • A clean, reliable, and scalable marketing data environment that enables confident decision-making.
  • Clear visibility into what’s working (and what’s not) across campaigns, channels, and customer segments.
  • Faster insights, fewer bottlenecks — and more empowered marketers.
  • Reduced day-to-day analytics burden on leadership through automation, enablement, and strategic alignment.

Interview Process:

We take hiring seriously because every person we add must have a meaningful impact on our culture, our work, and our team. As a small and growing company, we are intentional about who we bring on board, and we don’t compromise on that standard for the sake of speed.

Our interview process includes the following steps:

  • Online application
  • Predictive Index behavioral and cognitive assessments
  • Phone screen
  • Panel interview with cross-functional team members
  • Final offer

As part of our hiring process, we ask candidates to complete Predictive Index (PI) behavioral and cognitive assessments. These tools help us better understand your natural work style, communication preferences, and problem-solving approaches. They’re not used to “pass” or “fail” candidates — rather, they give us a more complete picture of how you might fit within the team and where you can thrive. We believe great hiring is about more than just skills; it's about setting people up for success from day one.

Throughout the process, you’ll meet with several people from across the organization — including senior leadership, members of the Marketing department, and internal stakeholders who will be key partners in this role. We believe that great hiring is a two-way street, and our process is designed to give you a real feel for who we are and how we work.

We understand that this level of engagement won’t be the right fit for everyone, and that’s okay. Candidates who aren’t comfortable with any part of the process may find a better fit elsewhere, and we genuinely wish them the best. For those who are excited to engage fully, we’re just as excited to get to know you.
