The Dallas Symphony Association (DSA) seeks an Audience Development and Direct Sales Coordinator, who will be responsible for processing, fulfilling, printing and distributing client orders of 10+ patrons. They will work with current large sales clients to renew their orders, as well as support the Audience Development and Direct Sales Manager to process and fulfill orders of 10+ guests and research prospects. Responsibilities also include managing email design requests and social media requests, deploying surveys, generating reports and overseeing marketing materials related to audience development as related to procuring orders of 10+ patrons and program book advertisements.
Direct Sales Support
- Answer incoming calls for orders of 10+ guests and assist with patron requests
- Work with current clients to renew regular orders of 10+ patrons, while supporting the Audience Development and Direct Sales Manager in their work to engage new and re-engage lapsed prospective clients
- Provide superior customer service to patrons to deepen engagement and increase ticket orders
- Actively research, identify, and, in coordination with the Audience Development and Direct Sales Manager, initiate and implement new opportunities to include, but not limited to, senior communities, tourism industry, local businesses, corporations, churches, non-profit organizations, special affiliation groups, local Chambers, etc.
- Support the Audience Development and Direct Sales Manager in coordinating pre- and post-concert receptions, dining reservations, and private events with the DSO’s caterer for group sales clients, ensuring a great experience
Direct Sales and Program Book Ad Sales Operations
- Create, maintain and finalize client orders of 10+ patrons and program book ad sales orders in Tessitura, the DSA’s CRM
- Plan all administrative communications with clients regarding invoicing and payment of orders of 10+ guests
- Maintain patron accounts to ensure timely deposits and final payments
- Maintain large order sales and program book ad sales lead and prospect lists
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on sales and marketing efforts
Other Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the rest of the Marketing & Guest Services team to jointly create special promotional activities, grassroots efforts, and ticket programs that drive audience development and engagement
The qualified candidate will have a college degree and 2+ years of experience providing superior customer service, proficient with CRM systems (Tessitura highly preferred) and is highly organized with strong attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are vital to the position’s success, along with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels, both internally and externally. The ideal candidate has prior experience with high-volume order processing, experience in the arts, entertainment and non-profit sectors, as well as familiarity with marketing support tasks such as managing requests and overseeing marketing materials. The person should have the ability to work well within a dynamic and fast-paced team environment. Availability for occasional nights and weekends to attend DSO concerts or events is required.
The Dallas Symphony provides excellent benefits, free parking, and tickets when available. In addition to a base salary, this role will receive commission on individual orders of 10+ tickets and recapturing sales from lapsed orders of 10+ patrons (one full season since their last visit).
