Overview of role:   

We are seeking a Lead Automation Engineer to design, implement, and scale intelligent workflow automations across our enterprise systems. This role combines integration engineering, process automation, and LLM-based application development using tools like MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, OpenAI APIs, and ChatGPT Teams. This pivotal role will be instrumental in transforming CSC's operational landscape by leveraging cutting-edge automation and AI technologies to drive efficiency, enhance data flow, and empower our teams. This strategic role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer, underscoring the critical importance of automation to CSC's operational efficiency and future growth.

Requirements

  

Automation Engineering

  • Build and maintain automation pipelines that integrate platforms such as Salesforce, Azure Data Lake, and internal tools ensuring seamless data flow and process orchestration.
  • Design and implement scalable data transformation and routing logic using APIs, scripts, and workflow tools.
  • Rapidly learn and apply tools like MuleSoft Anypoint Platform for orchestrating automation flows driving efficient and robust system integrations. 

LLM & AI Tooling

  • Develop   internal tools powered by LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Grok, and Gemini to enhance productivity and unlock new capabilities across the organization. 
  • Create and test prompts for structured output, document summarization, and data augmentation optimizing AI model performance and utility. 
  • Support  internal users in leveraging LLMs for workflow acceleration and internal content generation fostering AI adoption and innovation within CSC. 

Data Extraction & Processing

  • Automate reading, transforming, and enriching semi-structured documents (e.g.,  PDFs, invoices) via IDP/OCR and external APIs to streamline data ingestion  and reduce manual effort.
  • Normalize data formats and prepare structured outputs for system ingestion (e.g., into Salesforce).

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with Salesforce developers, enterprise architects, and business analysts to identify automation opportunities and implement scalable solutions acting as a key technical partner in strategic initiatives.
  • Provide documentation, demos, and support to ensure adoption of automated tools promoting self-sufficiency and long-term success of automation initiatives.

  

Technical Skills

Required

  • API Integration & Automation (Required): API Integration & Automation (Required): Extensive experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and robust scripting logic for complex system integrations.
  • Scripting (Python, JavaScript) (Required): Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript for developing workflow logic, advanced API interactions, and efficient data manipulation.

Preferred

  • MuleSoft Anypoint Platform: Experience with similar iPaaS integration platforms (e.g., Boomi, Workato) is highly preferred.
  • Salesforce Data Models: Understanding of objects, fields, and data flows within CRM processes.
  • OpenAI API / ChatGPT Teams: Experience building LLM workflows and tools.
  • Claude / LLM Pairing Tools: Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
  • Azure Data Platform: Familiarity with data lakes, storage formats, and cloud-based access models.
