SUMMARY
The Clinical Director leads the Catholic Charities Samaritan House and WES (Women Emergency Services) clinical functions, including regulatory, Medicaid/Medicare and Grant(s) oversight. The Clinical Director provides clinical expertise and programmatic consultation, as required, and will collaborate with the Regional Director of Services to promote the highest quality clinical care and ensure evidence-based practices are available to our participants.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
A Clinical Director at Catholic Charities:
- Responsible, with the Regional Director of Services, for improving clinical behavioral health outcomes throughout all Samaritan House programs. Develops, implements, and monitors Quality Improvement and Peer Review activities.
- Participates in strategic planning and program development for behavioral health and Substance Mis-Use treatment services throughout Samaritan House and WES programs, to include identification of unmet needs, creation and implementation of shared integrated care plans, level of care.
- Spearheads the development and delivery of outstanding, ongoing clinical trainings for all behavioral health staff across Samaritan House and WES
- Participates in quarterly grant meetings and works collaboratively with Regional Directors for grant reporting and outcomes.
- Collaborates with Regional Director of Services to ensure regular clinical and administrative supervision is provided to all clinical staff as needed, including supervision.
- Participates, develops, and monitors staff performance reviews and performance improvement plans, as appropriate.
- Serves as clinical consultant, advocate and educator regarding issues related to behavioral health and substance abuse to all Samaritan House and WES staff.
- Establishes, strengthens, and maintains relationship with outside agencies, departments, stakeholders, and community organization while serving as a resource to community providers and as a Catholic Charities representative on external committees and boards.
- Demonstrates compliance with ethical, legal, and professional guidelines in clinical and administrative practice.
- Participates in professional development and stays current on the literature regarding behavioral health and issues of homelessness and at-risk individuals and families.
- Acts as an advocate for participants and/or participant systems when appropriate.
- Perform 27-10 (M-1) “mental health hold” evaluations.
- Documents participant contacts and progress in accordance with accepted charting standards.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with referral sources and community agents.
- Participates in clinical supervision, consultation and staff training as required.
- Supports, promotes, and adheres to Catholic Charities’ vision, mission, values and Code of Ethics.
- Uses creativity and innovation in program development and service delivery.
- Maintains confidentiality of participant and agency information.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in Division and agency events/initiatives.
- Good steward of Agency human, financial, and capital resources
- Participates effectively as a team member through communication, cooperation, information sharing, and problem solving.
- Participates in staff training and programs as required.
- Participates in Shelter Leadership rotation for on-call support.
- Any other tasks or duties as assigned.
QAULIFICATIONS
- Demonstrates strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of methods of psychotherapy.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately.
- Familiarity with the DSM V and diagnostic techniques.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed care principles/practices.
- Ability to establish rapport with participants
- Flexible and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Requires knowledge of computers to input data, write communications and generate reports
- Demonstrate skills and sensitivity to the cultural/linguistic differences of staff, participants, and community.
- Knowledge of the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the participant population.
- Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse participant base.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPEREIENCE
Minimum of three years’ experience in clinical social work or related field. Experience with working with moderate to severe and persistently mentally ill populations. Experience as a program developer, manager, and supervisor or combination of worked experience. Demonstrated experience providing behavioral health and/or human services programs. Master's degree in social work, psychology, or similar field. Current license as a LCSW/LPC/LMFT in the State of Colorado. Licensed Addictions Counselor or CAC III preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Licensure in social work, professional counseling, or licensed addiction counselor required.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Salary: $85,000-$95,000 based on licensure and experience. Full Time, 40 hours. Day Shift and some evenings required.
