Position Summary

The Staff Accountant will support the accounting and finance team by performing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end close. This role is ideal for detail-oriented professionals looking to grow in a fast-paced construction and services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
   
• Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting.
   
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll as needed.
   
• Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
   
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
   
• Support preparation of financial statements and management reports.
   
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
   
• Help ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
   
• Collaborate with project managers to review job cost reports, billings, and budgets.
   
• Assist with audits, tax filings, and other regulatory requirements.
   
• Provide ad hoc analysis and support to the Controller and CFO.
   

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
   
• 1–3 years of accounting experience (construction industry experience preferred but not required).
   
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
   
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
   
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
   
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
   
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
   
• CPA candidate or construction accounting experience a plus.
