Under direct supervision of the Director of Programs and Training, this position manages the Person Centered (PC) Employment Team whose role is to support individuals with disabilities as they explore volunteer and employment interests. The primary responsibilities include developing, organizing, and deploying the services provided by the Person Centered Employment Team. The position liaisons and collaborates with cross functional teams within Pace Solano and with the North Bay Regional Center to ensure that each individual’s employment goals are effectively supported. Additionally, this position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with local community businesses that provide employment and volunteer opportunities for individuals served.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure PC Employment Coordinator and Employment Specialist(s) complete responsibilities as assigned. Maintain appropriate staffing levels. Monitor and approve all paperwork; e.g. staff timesheets, time off, mileage, billing, etc. Ensure all mandatory trainings for staff are completed within approved timelines. Schedule and facilitate weekly team meetings.
- Ensure attendance and schedule snapshots are completed daily. Ensure monthly billing is accurate before submission to NBRC and the Main Office. Ensure Master Files and Field Charts are kept current in the approved format, all agency reports are completed on time; e.g. IPCSP employment goals, TDS and PIP POSs are in place, follows SIR reporting procedures, TAs, VTS, Service Logs, Learning Logs, as needed are in place to track service objectives. All other reports as needed.
- Review individual referrals and coordinate the PC Employment intake process in collaboration with site Program Director/Managers. Attend intake meetings for individuals interested in employment services. Conduct/supervise the employment intake process for new individuals. Ensure all appropriate employment documents are in place prior to the individual starting the PC Employment Program.
- Work in conjunction with HR and the Director or Programs and Training to hire staff. Evaluate all staff annually. Provide staff with continuous feedback regarding their performance. Address problems with employees in accordance with Pace Solano Policy.
- Develop methods of outreach, community engagement, and partnerships for direct hire employment, volunteer and paid internship opportunities. Act as a liaison between individuals served and employers to ensure clear communication, job matching, and satisfaction. Facilitate individuals as they transition from volunteer or paid internships to a direct hire opportunity.
- Responsible for oversight of the development of person centered plans for all individuals served by Pace Solano. In addition, for those in the PC Employment Program, responsible for coordinating the development of individualized employment plans and creating (in coordination with Program Director/Managers) IPCSP employment goals to guide services and assist individuals in achieving employment related objectives. Ensure case files are in place for each individual and maintained in accordance with Pace guidelines.
- Introduce and provide support to staff in use of innovative and best practice employment support techniques. This includes promoting skill development, networking, discovery, employment development, job training and coaching for people with developmental disabilities. Includes the coordination of individual records and the development of discovery processes and employment related support planning.
- Partner and collaborate with Program Managers to develop schedules for job sites for both individuals and job coaches. Provide support to ensure a seamless transition from program sites to employment sites.
- Attend mandatory trainings (external and internal), staff/management meetings and staff trainings that may occur after your typical scheduled work hours.
- Maintain positive communication with individuals who attend program, home-providers, supervisors, co-workers, referral agencies and community at large. Disseminate appropriate information to supervisor.
- In coordination with the Director of Programs and Training, develop annual departmental goals in keeping with agency strategic goals and customer satisfaction findings. Review, monitor, and report outcomes in relation to service performance effectiveness, efficiency, access, and satisfaction.
- Attend annual meetings for individuals in the PC Employment Program to ensure the development of employment related goals and confirm that services are in line with individual needs.
- Report all suspected abuse in accordance with Mandated Reporter regulations and procedures.
- Display professional and respectful attitude towards individuals, co-workers, supervisors and assignments.
- Ability to lift/transfer/push/pull/bend/turn/pivot up to 38 lbs. occasionally while assisting individuals including those in wheelchairs as a support in daily program activities and personal care needs.
- Ability to sustain a forward bend occasionally while assisting individuals in assembly tasks, tabletop activities and eating lunch.
- Follow agency policies and safety procedures on an ongoing basis.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, Skills:
Education: BA in psychology, social work or a related human services field and a minimum of one-year experience in the management of a human services delivery system OR 3 years of experience in a human services delivery system including at least one year in a management position.
Experience: Must be 21 years of age or older. See Education Requirements.
Skills: Computer, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Organizational, Supervisorial, Ability to Train others.
Special Training: Pace Solano Licensing Orientation plus 30 hours of continuing education every 24 months of employment. First Aid & CPR, Pro-Act, Person Centered, Abuse Reporting, defensive driving, universal precautions, safety awareness, and sexual harassment training.
Prerequisite(s):
- Employer paid pre-placement physical which includes skin T.B. test or chest X-ray (not more than one year prior to or seven days after employment), breath alcohol test (BAT), drug screen and pre-work screen (back evaluation which includes the ability to lift/transfer/push/pull/ bend/turn/pivot up to 38 lbs. occasionally; and the ability to sustain a forward bend occasionally).
- DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance & agency orientation.
- Valid CA driver’s license and an acceptable DMV print-out.
- Have the daily use of a car that is operational, meets safety requirements, including proof of insurance for that car; and the ability to use the car during scheduled work hours.
