Inspire & Empower: Coach Girls Field Hockey at UHS!

San Francisco University High School (UHS) is looking for enthusiastic, dedicated, and passionate Assistant Coaches to join our Girls Field Hockey program. If you share our core values of Inquiry, Care, Integrity, Agency, and Interconnection, and believe that athletics are an integral part of a student's complete education, we want you on our team!

At UHS, our dynamic and collaborative athletic department empowers student-athletes to not only excel physically and emotionally, but also to build crucial life skills like leadership, resilience, and collaboration. These are the qualities that serve students well in college and far beyond.

About San Francisco University High School

University High School is a coeducational independent day school in San Francisco's vibrant Pacific Heights neighborhood, serving 514 students in grades 9-12. Since its founding in 1975, UHS has challenged students to live a life of integrity, inquiry, and purpose larger than the self.

UHS is seeking experienced and supportive Assistant Coaches to contribute to our Girls Field Hockey program. These seasonal, part-time roles report to the Head Coach and Director of Athletics. You'll play a key role in developing a strong, student-centered program that emphasizes learning, growth, and character as much as competition.

We're looking for coaches committed to helping young athletes build confidence, improve their game, and embrace the values of teamwork and sportsmanship. Coaching at UHS also means being part of a culture where positive mentorship and clear communication with athletes and families are essential.

  • Communication: Communicate effectively with the Head Coach and Athletic Department about scheduling, logistics, and student needs.
  • Team Participation: Attend seasonal coaches meetings, parent events, and school community functions as needed.

Who You Are

  • Coaching Experience: Prior coaching experience at the youth, club, high school, or college level is preferred.

  • Seasonal Availability: You're available for practices and games during the fall season (August through November).

Compensation

This is a part-time, seasonal position with a compensation range of $5,000 – $7,500, based on experience and team level assignment.
