We are seeking a data-driven and detail-oriented CPG Analyst to join our team, with a focus on Walmart Point-of-Sale (POS) data and retail analytics. This role is critical in driving insights and strategies that support our sales, marketing, and supply chain teams in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) space. The Sr. Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing sales data, performance metrics, and market trends to provide valuable insights and support strategic sales initiatives. This position involves collaborating with sales leaders, marketing teams, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for sales growth, optimize sales processes, and drive data-driven decision-making. The Senior Sales Business Analyst plays a critical role in improving sales efficiency, forecasting accuracy, and overall sales performance.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Analyze sales data, trends, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for sales growth, risks, and improvement across all channels of trade with an emphasis on interpreting Walmart Retail Link and Luminate POS data.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, inventory, pricing, and promotional effectiveness.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (sales, marketing, supply chain) to provide actionable insights that drive business decisions.
- Monitor and report on category performance, competitive landscape, and market share within Walmart and other big box retailers.
- Support new product launches, planogram analysis, and in-store execution through data insights.
- Partner with Walmart teams and brokers to align business objectives and performance metrics.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all reporting platforms.
- Manage internal pricing analysis, including evaluating pricing strategies, monitoring price elasticity, and supporting promotional planning with data-driven insights.
- Collaborate with sales leaders to develop sales forecasts and sales pipeline projections.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform sales strategies and identify market trends.
- Work with trade marketing team to provide POS data to measure the effectiveness of promotional efforts & marketing campaigns.
- Participate in sales planning and strategy sessions, offering insights and data-driven recommendations.
- Support the implementation and adoption of sales automation and CRM tools.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity in sales reporting systems.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and provide insights to address specific sales-related questions or challenges.
- Train and mentor new sales managers in data analysis and reporting best practices.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies related to sales analytics and reporting.
- Perform responsibilities in a manner consistent with Schumacher’s purpose, core values and strategic anchors.

Required Skills/Abilities
- Strong analytical and data analysis skills, with proficiency in using data visualization tools and techniques.
- Proficiency in Walmart Retail Link, Luminate, and syndicated data sources (e.g., Nielsen, IRI).
- Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using tools like Microsoft Excel, SQL, or business intelligence platforms.
- Familiarity with sales automation tools, CRM systems, and sales reporting platforms.
- Strong understanding of sales processes, sales operations, and sales performance metrics.
- Strong skills in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex sales data and insights to stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced sales environment.
- Experience with statistical analysis and forecasting models is a plus.
- Collaborative and team-oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Passion for using data to inform business decisions and drive sales growth.
- Working knowledge of S&OP process and how data helps drive that effort.
Qualifications
- Education: bachelor’s degree in business, economics, statistics, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years’ proven experience in a business analyst role, including experience in a lead or senior level role.
- Internal applicants: 6+ months successful demonstration of current position responsibilities, approval from current manager, and a relevant combination of education, continuing education, and experience.
