Are you a Clinical Psychologist seeking a flexible contract opportunity where your work has a meaningful impact? The New Sunrise Regional Treatment Center (NSRTC), located in the Pueblo of Acoma, NM, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Psychologist to provide essential behavioral health services to Native American youth in a culturally responsive, residential treatment setting.

About the Opportunity:
As our Contract Clinical Psychologist, you'll be a key member of a multidisciplinary team providing behavioral health services to adolescents affected by substance use, trauma, and co-occurring mental health conditions. You will play an integral role in assessments, therapeutic interventions, and care planning to support healing and recovery.

Position Details:

• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm (OT may be available) 
• Setting: Residential adolescent treatment center at NSRTC 
• Contract Type: Full-time 1099 contract 
• Length: Base year with four option years, pending background clearance 
• Start Date: As soon as background clearance is completed
   

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychological assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and psychotherapy for adolescents and families 
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions 
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the behavioral health team 
• Maintain timely and complete clinical documentation in the EHR system
• Provide outreach services including telehealth, school-based support, and home visits as needed
• Consult with interdisciplinary staff, including physicians, counselors, and social workers 
• Support culturally sensitive care by incorporating local tribal knowledge and customs 
• Contribute to quality assurance initiatives and clinical peer reviews 
• Participate in training and maintain knowledge of DSM/ICD criteria and trauma-informed care 

Qualifications:

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program 
• Current, unrestricted Psychologist license in any U.S. state or territory 
• Minimum of 2 years of post-doctoral clinical experience (adolescent experience preferred) 
• Experience with trauma-informed and culturally competent care 
• BLS certification required 
• Strong documentation, Computer and EHR proficiency 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting 
• U.S. Citizenship and willingness to undergo a federal background check (may take up to 90 days)

Additional Duties:
Additional tasks may be assigned by supervisors in accordance with the treatment center’s evolving needs and federal guidelines.

Indian Preference Exercised:
In accordance with 25 U.S.C. 47 and IHS policies, preference will be given to qualified Indian applicants. This is a TIER 2 position under the Prairie Band Employment Code.

Qualifications Needed:

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program 
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice psychology in any U.S. state or territory 
• Minimum 2 years of post-doctoral clinical experience, preferably with adolescents and in behavioral health settings 
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification 
• Must meet credentialing and privileging requirements in accordance with Indian Health Service policies 
• Must complete and pass a Level I and Level II fingerprint-based federal background check (may take up to 6 months) 
• Must comply with the Indian Health Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act 
• Strong diagnostic and psychotherapy skills using DSM and ICD criteria 
• Knowledge and experience in treating behavioral health and substance use issues, particularly in adolescents
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care and treatment of co-occurring disorders 
• Experience in cross-cultural care and working with Native American or tribal communities is preferred 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team 
• Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) 
• Must follow HIPAA, the Privacy Act, and other federal guidelines regarding patient care and data 
• Willingness to complete required Indian Health Service training
