Description

Provides diagnosis, treatment, and medication management in a behavioral health clinical setting to a specified population. Provides consultation for in-house patients for Heritage Health providers and, if needed, assumes responsibility for psychiatric care. Counsels and educates patients regarding treatment and refers to ancillary and support services.  


Salary: Psychiatric NP/PA $138,601

Requirements

The Minimum Qualifications

• Certified as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or PA in the State of Idaho or qualified to

receive certification as an PMHNP or PA in the State of Idaho.

• State of Idaho RN licensure or ability to receive licensure required, if applicable.

• If a PA, psychiatric CAQ preferred or willingness to obtain within 2 years of employment

• BLS certification required.


Your Essential Duties:

  • Provide psychiatric care through diagnosis, clinical judgment, and medication management to restore, maintain, and improve mental health status in accordance with standard of care within scope of practice: assessment of physical, emotional, and developmental status of the individual and family;
  • analysis of health behavior related to personality, lifestyle, and culture;
  • prescriptive treatment of health problems as defined by nurse practitioner act;
  • counseling and client advocacy;
  • provides health education to clients, clinic staff, and community organizations;
  • performs assessment of the environmental status of the community and its impact on health.
  • Obtains patient histories and develops patient care charts, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Supervises and/or coordinates the activities of patient care and/or support staff.
  • Works in collaboration and/or coordination with other healthcare providers within the clinic team and community agencies to provide comprehensive client care.
  • In coordination with other clinic staff, maintains system of quality assessment and assurance inaccordance with quality assurance plan.
  • Participates in program planning, development, implementation and evaluation relating to specific job, clinic, and program functions.
  • Maintains continuing education requirements to ensure high-quality practice and meet licensure expectations.
  • Participates in staff meetings, conferences, and in-service training and continuing education.
  • Participates in peer review.
  • May participate in planning programs and in developing specific health policies and procedures.
  • Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
  • Participates in QA/QI activities.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Performs other related functions as required for clinic operations.
  • Heritage Health staff have an active role in our Patient Centered Medical Home model of care. This role is designated as part of the Heritage Health PCMH Care Team.

Job Overview Working Conditions: Work is normally performed in a typical interior, outpatient work environment in an clinic building. Work may be demanding and chaotic at times. May be exposed to patient population that will present a variety of contagious diseases, physical injuries and emotional states of mind.
