We're a coeducational independent day school in San Francisco's Pacific Heights, serving 480 students in grades 9-12 with a mission to challenge each individual to live a life of integrity, inquiry, and purpose larger than the self.

- Cultivate a Positive Team Culture: Promote a growth mindset, model exemplary sportsmanship, and encourage leadership, accountability, and mutual respect among players.
- Mentor Coaching Staff: Support and collaborate with assistant coaches and JV staff to ensure continuity, positive communication, and shared values.
- Ensure Compliance & Safety: Stay current on and enforce all BCL, NCS, NFHS rules, and school policies, maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all student-athletes.
- Collaborate Broadly: Work effectively with athletic trainers, strength & conditioning staff, facilities, and the broader coaching team. Maintain open communication with parents and represent UHS Athletics professionally.
- Champion UHS Athletics: Integrate the school’s athletic philosophy, mission, and core values into every aspect of the program, reinforcing the educational value of sports.
- Inspire Joy & Enthusiasm: Create an environment where players genuinely enjoy practice and competition, cultivating pride, excitement, and a strong sense of belonging within the team.
Who You Are
- Experienced Coach: Proven coaching experience at the high school, college, or elite club level is required. Collegiate playing experience is strongly preferred.

- Lacrosse Expert: Comprehensive understanding of NFHS rules and regulations, strong grasp of player development strategies, in-game decision-making, and lacrosse-specific conditioning.
- Student-Athlete Advocate: Deep understanding of adolescent development, with the ability to build trust, communicate effectively, and serve as a positive role model.
- Certified: Hold valid CPR and First Aid certifications, and CIF Coach Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Personal Attributes: Positive, enthusiastic, and passionate about working with high school athletes.
