Description

The Regional Director of Pharmacy Operations is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and supporting the day-to-day and strategic operations of a portfolio of pharmacies operated in partnership with 340B-covered entities, including FQHCs and Ryan White clinics. This position ensures operational excellence, compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements (including HRSA and 340B program guidelines), and alignment with client goals related to patient access, clinical integration, and financial performance.


This is a remote-first role with regular travel (up to 50%) to pharmacy locations and client sites within the assigned region. Must be able to work flexible hours as needed to support pharmacy operations and client needs 


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to a region of outpatient and specialty pharmacies aligned with 340B-covered entity partners.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between pharmacy sites, pharmacy management leadership, and client leadership teams to support partnership success.
  • Ensure pharmacies operate in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as 340B program requirements and HRSA audit readiness standards.
  • Drive operational performance, focusing on key metrics such as prescription volume, patient satisfaction, staff productivity, and clinical program integration.
  • Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflow optimization, inventory management practices, and technology utilization to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
  • Lead, coach, and support Pharmacy Managers and site-based teams, fostering a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Support new pharmacy implementations, expansions, and transitions by coordinating cross-functional resources and maintaining project timelines.
  • Lead execution of pharmacy growth playbook to achieve pharmacy scaling and growth.
  • Collaborate with clinical and business development teams to identify and execute opportunities for program growth, clinical service offerings, and enhanced outcomes for patients and covered entities.
  • Monitor regional financial performance, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and identify opportunities for margin improvement.
  • Stay current on changes in State Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations, DEA regulations, 340B policy, pharmacy operations best practices, and healthcare industry trends.

Requirements
  • PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; active pharmacist license in good standing preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in pharmacy operations, with at least 3 years in a multi-site or regional leadership capacity.
  • Experience working with or for 340B-covered entities, including FQHCs, Ryan White grantees, or similar safety-net healthcare organizations, is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the 340B Drug Pricing Program, including split billing, in-house pharmacy, contract pharmacy, and general HRSA 340B compliance.

Preferred Expectations:

  • Experience with operations within a 340B pharmacy.
  • Experience with Pioneer Pharmacy Management System.

  • Strong operational acumen with experience in driving performance improvement and cost efficiency.
  • Excellent relationship management skills and experience working with healthcare executives and clinical leadership.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present to clients on regular cadences (ex: QBR’s)
  • Strong analytical, decision-influencing and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in a matrixed environment with remote teams and dynamic priorities.
Salary Description
$145,000 - $160,000 w/ up to 10% bonus
